Spanish Point expands UK footprint with Microsoft AI role
Spanish Point Technologies has expanded its UK operations after recording 31% compound annual revenue growth over the past two financial years and securing a role as one of three UK partners authorised to deliver Microsoft's AI Transformation Programmeme.
The Dublin-headquartered software engineering firm said the UK expansion follows a strengthened relationship with Microsoft. The company operates in cloud, data, AI and business applications, and works with customers across Europe and North America.
Spanish Point said its client base includes Business Growth Fund, SOCAN and Totalmobile. The company said it now serves 13 markets across Europe and North America.
Microsoft programme
Microsoft's AI Transformation Programmeme runs over 20 days. It includes an AI assessment and customer workshops. It also includes an evaluation of proposed AI use cases, a funding assessment from Microsoft, a proposed implementation roadmap and an estimated return on investment.
Spanish Point said it will deliver the programme for enterprise organisations. The company described the work as focused on modernising data platforms and scaling AI applications.
The company said its UK expansion includes dedicated UK leadership. It also pointed to the recent appointment of a Head of Sales.
"Our UK expansion reflects long-term investment in our engineering capability, IP-led product strategy, and deep Microsoft expertise. As organisations scale AI and cloud initiatives, they need partners with proven experience in delivering complex enterprise programmes. With dedicated UK leadership, including our recently appointed Head of Sales and a strong track record in digital transformation, we are well-positioned for the next phase of growth," said John Corley, Chief Executive Officer and Co-founder, Spanish Point Technologies.
Partner comments
Microsoft said Spanish Point's local delivery presence will matter for UK customers working through cloud and AI change programmes.
"Spanish Point Technologies combines deep engineering expertise with innovative solutions to help organisations translate cloud and AI investments into real business outcomes. Their expanded UK presence, backed by local leadership and delivery capability, means customers can modernise core systems, scale AI initiatives, and accelerate digital transformation with confidence," said Nick Hedderman, UK&I Channel Lead, Microsoft.
Headcount growth
Spanish Point was founded in 2005 by Corley and Chairman Donal Cullen. The company said it has increased headcount by 50 over the past two years. It said its team now totals 110.
The company attributed the increase to investment in talent and research and development. It also said it has expanded its product portfolio through what it described as IP-driven innovation.
Spanish Point said its transformation work covers modernisation of core systems and workplaces. It positioned its projects around operational improvement and the outcomes of technology investment.
Tools and products
In addition to services, Spanish Point offers products such as Smart AIM, which it described as an Azure DevOps accelerator. The company said more than 30 organisations have used Smart AIM across 60 projects.
Spanish Point also offers Matching Engine, which it described as enterprise software for royalties distribution. The company said the software supports the distribution of more than €2.6 billion in royalties annually to more than 758,000 rightsholders worldwide.
The company also cited its status within Microsoft's partner ecosystem. It said it is a founding Microsoft partner. It also said it is Microsoft's largest Azure partner in Ireland and a two-time Microsoft Ireland Country Partner of the Year. The firm also said it ranks among the top 1% of Microsoft cloud partners globally.
Market backdrop
Spanish Point cited a forecast that the UK digital transformation market will grow at a 27.7% compound annual growth rate through 2030 and reach USD 235.69 billion.
The company linked that outlook to rising use of AI and advanced analytics for collaboration, process automation and data-driven decision making. It said organisations want enterprise-scale delivery from partners with practical experience.
Spanish Point said its work in this area uses Microsoft Azure. It cited end-to-end services spanning cloud infrastructure, AI and machine learning, Microsoft 365 Copilot and data management with Microsoft Purview.
Spanish Point said it plans continued investment in research and development, talent development and partnerships as it seeks further growth across the UK.
