Sovos has named the winners of its 2026 Partner of the Year Awards, which span the tax technology company's global partner network.

Accenture was named Innovation Partner of the Year, KPMG won Delivery Excellence Partner of the Year, PwC Brazil received Rising Star Partner of the Year, and Amazon Web Services was named Strategic Alliance Partner of the Year. CypherTax won ISV Partner of the Year, while Comtax was recognised as Sales Partner of the Year.

The awards were selected using criteria including revenue growth, customer satisfaction, innovation in joint solutions, market expansion, and overall strategic impact. The selection covered partners across industries and regions.

The awards offer a snapshot of how tax compliance software providers are relying on alliances with consultancies, cloud providers, and specialist software groups to expand their reach. For Sovos, the range of winners highlights a channel strategy spanning product integration, sales, implementation, and broader commercial relationships.

Accenture's innovation award points to its work with Sovos on joint offerings and routes to market designed to address changing customer and compliance demands. KPMG's recognition for delivery excellence reflects its focus on implementation work and services tied to Sovos deployments.

PwC Brazil was singled out as a newer partner that has gained momentum early in its relationship with Sovos. Amazon Web Services was recognised for what the company described as a deep alliance built around shared business objectives and executive alignment.

CypherTax's award in the independent software vendor category highlights the role of third-party integrations in the tax technology market. Comtax's sales award underlines the continued importance of partner-led pipeline generation and revenue contribution in a sector where software groups often rely on external channels to reach multinational customers.

Partner model

The breadth of the award categories suggests Sovos measures partner performance on more than direct sales. It gives equal weight to technical integration, delivery work, and strategic alignment, indicating an effort to build a broader ecosystem around its tax compliance products.

That approach mirrors a wider pattern in enterprise software, where vendors increasingly depend on large consulting firms and cloud platforms to support deployments for complex international customers. In tax and regulatory technology, the model can be especially significant because local compliance rules vary by market and often require extensive implementation and advisory work alongside software.

Sovos positions itself as a tax compliance specialist with a large international footprint. It says it processes more than 70 billion transactions a year and serves more than 100,000 customers in more than 150 countries, including half of the Fortune 500.

Those figures help explain why partner relationships matter to the business. Supporting large multinational clients often requires local market knowledge, systems integration, and managed delivery work that software providers may not be able to handle alone.

Market context

The tax technology market has drawn growing interest as governments digitise invoicing, reporting, and indirect tax collection. Companies operating across several jurisdictions face a heavier compliance burden, creating demand for software tools that can manage tax determination, reporting, and regulatory updates across multiple systems.

Against that backdrop, alliances with firms such as KPMG, PwC, Accenture, and Amazon Web Services can help software vendors strengthen access to large corporate accounts. They can also help embed tax software into broader finance, cloud, and transformation programmes.

Sovos did not disclose financial terms related to the awards or any commercial arrangements with the winning partners. It also did not provide deal volumes or revenue contributions for each winner.

Chris Clinton, Chief Partner Officer at Sovos, commented on the rationale for the awards in a statement accompanying the announcement.

"The partners we're recognizing today have done something harder than hitting a number, they've consistently built trust with customers in the most complex regulatory environments in the world," said Chris Clinton, Chief Partner Officer at Sovos.

"That takes expertise, commitment, and genuine collaboration. These are the types of partnerships worth celebrating and continuing to build upon well into the future," Clinton said.
