Siemens launches AI software to scale industrial use

Siemens has launched Intelligence Centre X, an industrial AI orchestration software product intended to help organisations scale AI use beyond pilot projects.

The software combines the Mendix low-code platform with Siemens Graph Studio and AI Studio tools from the RapidMiner portfolio. It is designed to connect data, models and workflows in a governed environment, allowing companies to deploy AI-driven applications and agents with traceability and policy controls.

The launch reflects a wider challenge facing industrial groups that have invested in artificial intelligence but struggled to move from trials to broad operational use. Fragmented data, inconsistent governance and weak links between AI systems and day-to-day workflows have limited adoption, Siemens said.

Intelligence Centre X is aimed at what Siemens describes as a hybrid workforce, in which staff and AI agents work together using shared context and common workflows. The software is designed to sit on top of existing enterprise systems rather than replace them.

Tony Hemmelgarn, president and CEO of Siemens Digital Industries Software, outlined the company's view of the market need.

"Intelligence Centre X helps organizations move beyond AI experimentation by embedding intelligence directly into everyday workflows, where it can be governed, scaled and trusted. When AI is connected to real business processes and enterprise data, it delivers measurable impact at scale," Hemmelgarn said.

He added: "AI only delivers real value when it is embedded in how work gets done. Intelligence Centre X brings together enterprise data with industrial ontologies and Siemens' knowledge graph capabilities in a governed environment to empower organizations to apply AI with confidence and achieve consistent, measurable outcomes."

Customer use

Siemens pointed to early customer deployments as evidence of the software's use in production settings. One example is Vivix Vidros Planos, a Brazilian flat glass manufacturer, which has used nearly 30 Mendix applications to connect operational technology and information technology data across SAP S/4HANA, Siemens Industrial Edge and Snowflake.

According to Siemens, Vivix cut production issue resolution time by 85%, recaptured 6,000 hours of manual work in a year and reduced customer complaint resolution from five days to less than one day. Vivix has also built an AI-based Virtual Engineer on Intelligence Centre X using Amazon Bedrock and Claude from Anthropic.

"With this system, we are ready for the agentic future, enabling our people and AI to work together in a more connected and productive way," said Aristóteles Terceiro Neto, industrial transformation manager at Vivix Vidros Planos.

He added: "We are already seeing significant enterprise value, including up to 4x faster resolution times in quality-related investigations, as well as measurable improvements in how we support decision-making on the shop floor."

Another customer Siemens cited was Axiz, which used the software in a pricing application. The deployment combined AI and machine learning modelling, application development and process orchestration in an end-to-end workflow.

"Axiz is among the first enterprises globally to deploy Intelligence Centre X as a full agentic enterprise system. Integrating the AI/ML modeling capabilities, application development and process orchestration for an end-to-end pricing use case, Axiz achieved a 95 percent reduction in manual effort and 100 percent accuracy in data ingestion," said Andrew Moodley, chief cloud, digital and marketing officer at Axiz.

He added: "Axiz is the first customer globally to integrate Intelligence Centre X for our pricing use case. AI/ML development acts as the brain, while the application development and orchestration capabilities act as the body."

Deployment options

The product is being offered in three deployment patterns. It can be used with Siemens' own AI products to add lifecycle intelligence through industrial ontologies, as a standalone platform for asset-intensive organisations using other operational technology suppliers, or as an AI execution system for sectors including financial services, insurance, healthcare, government and retail.

That positioning suggests Siemens is seeking to broaden the addressable market beyond manufacturing and industrial operations. While the software is rooted in industrial data and lifecycle management, the company is also presenting it as a platform for regulated and data-heavy sectors that require auditability.

Siemens also framed the software as part of its wider Xcelerator portfolio and said it is designed to work with existing enterprise and operational data tools. It highlighted support from data and cloud partners as part of that approach.

Amy Kodl, senior vice president of worldwide alliances and channels at Snowflake, commented on the integration with Snowflake's platform.

"We are genuinely excited about the new capabilities Intelligence Centre X brings to Snowflake customers," Kodl said.

She added: "It works with their existing Snowflake data, complements capabilities like Snowflake Semantic Views and Cortex AI and shares our relentless focus on being easy, connected and trusted."

The launch comes as software and industrial groups compete to define how AI systems move from advisory tools into operational processes with human oversight. Siemens is arguing that success will depend less on individual models and more on how companies connect data, workflows and governance around them.

For Siemens, the early message from customers is centred on operational measures rather than model performance, with reported gains including lower manual effort, faster issue resolution and improved data-handling accuracy.
