Primion partners Iveda to expand AI video analytics

Primion has partnered with Iveda to offer IvedaAI to customers across Europe, extending Iveda's video analytics software through Primion's security portfolio.

Under the agreement, Primion will offer IvedaAI as a standalone product, while both companies plan deeper integration with Primion's wider security platform. The move is aimed at customers that want to connect access control records with live and recorded video analysis.

Primion supplies converged security and workforce management systems and serves about 5,000 customers worldwide. Nasdaq-listed Iveda focuses on video intelligence software and has been expanding in Europe, including with a new operation in Spain.

The partnership follows more than a year of joint work on training and rollout planning. That preparation reflects a practical challenge for many physical security operators: access control systems can show who entered a building and when, but often provide limited visibility into what happened around the event.

By combining the two systems, customers will be able to add video-based analysis to existing camera networks rather than replace installed hardware. The software is designed to work with current infrastructure, which may appeal to organisations trying to modernise security operations while controlling costs and limiting disruption.

IvedaAI allows operators to set up video detections using natural language prompts instead of relying only on fixed analytic rules. This is intended to help security teams define and adjust what they want to monitor as circumstances change.

The software was also developed with GDPR requirements in mind, an important point for customers in Europe, particularly in tightly regulated sectors. Data governance and compliance have become central issues for buyers of AI-based monitoring tools, especially where surveillance systems intersect with workplace management and access control.

Customer focus

Primion presented the partnership as part of a broader effort to simplify security operations by bringing different streams of information together in one environment. It said customers increasingly want systems that reduce complexity rather than add another standalone tool.

Primion has built its business over more than three decades and has a significant installed base in the region, making it a useful channel for a software company looking to broaden adoption without building a distribution network from scratch.

European push

The partnership also fits Iveda's wider international expansion. Its recent establishment of operations in Madrid has given it a stronger base for European activity as it works more closely with Primion.

The security sector has been moving towards platforms that combine separate functions such as access control, workforce management, alarms and video surveillance. Vendors argue that buyers increasingly want a joined-up view of incidents, especially in larger facilities where operators must make quick decisions using data from multiple systems.

Against that backdrop, the Primion-Iveda tie-up points to a market preference for integration over wholesale replacement. Rather than asking customers to remove existing cameras or security systems, the companies are positioning the software as an added analytical layer that can sit on top of equipment already in place.

Primion says more than 470 staff support its consulting, planning, development, installation, maintenance and customer support work around the world.
