Paylink Solutions has appointed Andy Hart as Managing Director and Nicky Mikulla as Sales Director as it consolidates its business under the Paylink Solutions name.

The leadership changes are part of a broader shift for the Grantham-based affordability technology provider, which is moving beyond the Embark platform brand after nearly a decade in the market. The change reflects its development into a broader affordability intelligence platform serving financial services and other sectors.

Its technology has supported more than 1.2 million affordability journeys for organisations including NatWest, Santander, Tesco Bank, PayPal, Virgin Money, Zopa, Octopus Energy, E.ON Next, and Coventry, Leeds and Newcastle Building Societies.

Paylink works with organisations involved in lending, collections and financial support. Its platform combines affordability data, Open Banking, automation and workflow tools to help firms assess customer circumstances and make decisions on support.

Leadership changes

Hart joins with more than 20 years of experience across software, digital transformation and artificial intelligence-led businesses. His background includes senior leadership roles spanning product, delivery and commercial operations.

His remit will include guiding the next stage of the platform's development and strengthening client relationships as Paylink expands its offer in affordability, decisioning and customer support.

Hart said: "At its heart, Paylink is about helping organisations make better decisions for their customers. Financial difficulty is rarely simple, and good technology should make it easier to understand someone's situation, work out the right support, and achieve the best outcome. I'm excited to lead the business into its next phase of growth, building solutions that pair smart technology with genuine customer focus - better experiences for our clients, and ultimately better outcomes for the people they support."

Mikulla joins with experience in enterprise sales, commercial strategy and business development across artificial intelligence, software and financial technology. Her career has included work on strategic partnerships and market expansion.

Her appointment comes as Paylink seeks to expand its commercial reach in response to demand for affordability tools and automated decisioning in customer support and credit-related processes.

Mikulla said: "I'm thrilled to be joining Paylink Solutions as Sales Director at such a pivotal time for the business.

"There's a real opportunity to open up new markets and help more organisations understand the value we can bring in supporting customers who may be dealing with debt or vulnerability and need to find solutions. Making it easier for those customers to get the right support is at the very heart of what we do, and the partnerships Paylink Solutions has built over almost a decade reflect that commitment. I'm looking forward to being part of the team, helping our clients better support their customers, and contributing to the growth story."

Platform focus

Paylink plans further investment in artificial intelligence, automation and data analysis as it develops what it describes as the next stage of affordability intelligence. That work is expected to focus on customer journeys, decisioning and insight into customer needs.

Victoria Morgante, Director of Strategy at Paylink Solutions, said the business is pairing product investment with changes in its senior team.

Morgante said: "As organisations continue to rethink how they engage with and support customers, Paylink Solutions is investing not only in technology but also in the expertise that will help shape its future. Andy and Nicky bring extensive experience that complements our vision as we continue to help clients deliver better decisions and better outcomes for the customers they support."

Its customer base spans financial services, utilities and other sectors where firms need to assess income, expenditure and signs of financial stress. In these markets, affordability checks and support pathways have drawn growing attention as lenders, creditors and service providers face pressure to identify vulnerable customers and tailor their responses.

The platform combines structured income and expenditure assessments with Open Banking data and configurable workflows. It is designed to support both operational processes and regulatory requirements for organisations dealing with customers in financial difficulty.

Paylink remains headquartered in Grantham, Lincolnshire, as it approaches its tenth year in business. Its focus remains on helping organisations understand customer circumstances earlier and guide them towards appropriate support through data-led affordability assessments and automated decisioning.
