Nynke Postma joins Encompass as Head of Business Development

Encompass Corporation has announced the appointment of Nynke Postma, former CEO and founder of Blacksmith KYC, as its new Head of Business Development for Asia and the Middle East.

Postma, based in Singapore, will work directly under the direction of Steve Hadaway, Chief Revenue Officer, to enhance the value that customers derive from Encompass' Corporate Digital Identity (CDI) products. This strategic move aims to maximise the impact global banks achieve with Encompass' CDI offerings.

Her appointment follows Encompass' acquisition of two key innovations, Blacksmith KYC and CoorpID, earlier this year. These acquisitions are part of the company’s strategy to address the critical challenge of identification and verification of corporate and institutional clients via CDI.

Nynke Postma brings more than two decades of experience in the financial services sector. Her career includes senior roles at ING, where she was involved in programme and product management, software delivery, and fraud management. Before establishing Blacksmith KYC in 2017, Postma led a strategic merger of daily banking operations in ING's core markets— the Netherlands and Belgium—potentially impacting 11 million retail customers.

Blacksmith KYC, founded as part of ING Labs Singapore, aimed to improve Know Your Customer (KYC) processes for the financial industry. Its unique capability of allowing banks to configure their Customer Due Diligence (CDD) requirements within a Digital Policy Manager has significantly enhanced the data collection process. This enables banks to convert manual KYC policies into efficient automated processes, providing analysts with valuable risk insights from customer profiles.
