Interweave has won the Driving Interoperability and Standards Through Digital category at the HSJ Digital Awards 2026, a new category introduced this year.

The award recognised Interweave's Digital Platform, which captures and processes clinical information across a broad network of health and care organisations. Interweave is part of Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust, and its platform is used by partners across England, including Integrated Care Boards, NHS trusts, social care providers, local authorities, ambulance services and GP practices.

The win comes as interoperability and record-sharing remain central issues for the NHS. Ministers have set out plans for a Single Patient Record, intended to allow healthcare data to be stored and accessed through one portal, bringing greater attention to systems that can connect information across services.

The platform is designed to reduce clinicians' administrative workload by automating tasks such as referrals and patient communications. It also gives clinical teams access to patient history and other data during care, with the aim of improving the speed and relevance of treatment decisions.

Interweave's work sits within a part of the NHS technology agenda that has drawn increasing focus as services try to join up records across hospitals, community care, ambulance services, primary care and local government. Digital programmes in this area have often faced challenges around common standards, legacy systems and the practical difficulty of sharing data between institutions with different technology estates.

Winning a category centred on interoperability and standards gives Interweave recognition for work in one of the more difficult areas of health technology delivery. The HSJ Digital Awards highlight NHS digital projects and teams that have shown measurable results from implementation.

Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust also had another shortlisted entry at the awards. Its Digital Team was shortlisted in the Outstanding Achievement in EPR Implementation and Optimisation category.

Lee Rickles, Chief Information Officer at Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust and programme director for Interweave, said the award was welcome recognition of the team's work.

"Interweave is delighted to have been recognised for driving interoperability and standards. These are two of the most important pillars of our digital platform, and we believe our focus on these areas has been a key driver of our success. I would like to congratulate our entire team and take the opportunity to thank our partners for their continued support," Rickles said.
