Cezanne HR launches expenses tool to cut claim time
Cezanne HR has launched a new expense management product, Cezanne Expenses, claiming its automation can save businesses up to three hours per expense claim.
The product is part of a wider push to bring expense workflows into an HR-led software suite. Expense processing often spans HR, finance and line management, yet many organisations still rely on manual steps and separate tools for receipts, approvals and reporting.
Manual processes can cause delays and rework when receipts go missing, mileage is calculated incorrectly, or policy rules are applied inconsistently. For finance teams, that can mean gaps in reporting and missed VAT reclaims.
Cezanne Expenses sits within the broader Cezanne HR suite but is also available as a standalone product. It uses Webexpenses technology, which Cezanne says removes the need for additional vendors or complex integrations.
Product Scope
The module includes mobile expense management and mobile receipt capture using optical character recognition. It also supports mileage claims with point-to-point calculation, configurable approval workflows, policy customisation and automated rules.
Other features include corporate card matching, payroll CSV exports, and real-time reporting dashboards. Cezanne is targeting organisations seeking tighter control over spend and simpler processes for employees and approvers.
Expense management has become more visible for HR and finance teams as headcount in support functions remains under pressure. In many companies, HR systems hold employee and organisational data used for cost allocation and approvals. When expense tools sit outside that environment, they can create duplicated data and inconsistent controls.
Cezanne is pitching a single sign-on experience and shared data across HR and expenses. The module syncs employee information, cost centres and organisational structures between systems to reduce manual data entry and minimise mismatches between HR records and finance processes.
Automation And Controls
Cezanne points to the time cost of manual processing, including checks for receipts, policy compliance and mileage validation. It says manual claims can take more than 20 minutes to process, and that errors or policy breaches remain common in poorly managed systems.
These failures can lead to rework for managers and finance staff and increase compliance risk when policy rules are applied inconsistently, or claims lack complete documentation.
Simon Noble, CEO of Cezanne HR, said: "Cezanne Expenses gives you complete control, visibility and simplicity, all through one HR-led platform. Managing expenses should not mean chasing receipts, fixing errors or answering endless 'where's my claim?' questions."
He added: "For too long, organisations have relied on disconnected systems that create more work, more risk and less visibility. By bringing expenses into the heart of the HR platform, we are giving our customers a smarter, more governed and more efficient way to manage spend. It is about saving time, reducing errors and giving both HR and finance complete confidence in their data."
Suite Strategy
Cezanne HR is headquartered in London and has an office in Glasgow. It sells HR and payroll software and offers managed payroll services in the UK. Its broader product set spans recruitment and onboarding, core HR administration, pulse surveys, performance management and succession planning.
Cezanne Expenses extends that footprint into a workflow that often touches payroll and finance operations. It includes payroll-related outputs such as CSV exports, which many organisations still use to transfer data between systems.
Integration with Cezanne Payroll is planned as a future step, according to the company. Cezanne Expenses is available now, with payroll integration described as coming soon.
