Brivo has launched Brivo Reseller MCP for security systems integrators, describing it as the first Model Context Protocol server aimed at that market.

The launch allows resellers to connect their preferred AI assistants and partner portal tools to Brivo account data. They can then query information in natural language and generate operational analysis within the large language model tools they already use. Brivo has also opened a private beta for a separate Brivo MCP for end users.

The product is designed for security resellers managing customer estates across sites, doors, panels, service tickets and billing cycles. The first release is read-only, allowing users to review information and create outputs such as reports, support tickets and quotes, but not change settings, edit accounts or lock and unlock doors.

Resellers can use the system to build dashboards, identify customers approaching renewal, review support issues and track growth trends. Tasks that often require manual work across several systems can instead be handled through prompts submitted to AI assistants such as Claude, ChatGPT and Gemini.

Steve Van Till, founder and president of Brivo, said the launch was designed around how users already work with AI tools.

"Brivo meets our customers and partners wherever they do their work. Today many people spend a lot of time working in tools like Claude, ChatGPT and Gemini-because these tools are so powerful," Van Till said.

"You can now use whatever AI tool you like to help manage your Brivo system using natural language prompts. We meet you where you need us to meet you."

Partner use cases

Brivo outlined a range of uses for resellers, including identifying offline control panels, checking firmware status and reviewing reader or door errors across customer accounts. Users can also view account information, including sites, doors, panels, editions, enabled features, settings and billing cycles, in one place.

The system also covers monitoring credential usage, administrator counts and account or hardware growth over time. This information can be viewed alongside customer relationship management, billing, email, support and project software, while access remains governed by existing role-based permissions.

One example Brivo gave was a reseller asking an AI assistant for account, door and panel growth by month over the previous year, together with accounts by pricing tier and performance against a sales target. That would allow sales and operations teams to build a picture of customer activity without relying on predefined dashboards.

Several channel partners said they expect to use the new interface in daily work, particularly for support operations, account reviews and broader analysis of customer estates.

"Claude is already part of our team's daily workflow, so the Brivo Reseller MCP fits right in. Our alarm support team will use it to catch offline panels and reader errors before customers call, resolve issues remotely before rolling a truck, prep account summaries ahead of customer reviews, and reconcile door counts and editions against what we bill," said Merle Hughes, vice president of service at NAVCO.

"We're excited to explore and interrogate client data, identify trends, and create tailored insights on our own terms rather than being limited to predefined reports and dashboards," said Jo Kaye, co-founder and director of Balthorne Security Solutions.

"Brivo Reseller MCP can help us connect information with insight, allowing our entire organization to become more proactive, more informed, and more valuable to our clients throughout the life of the relationship," said Chris Gilbert, founder and president of Security Pros.

Broader context

The launch reflects a wider push by software suppliers to make operational and administrative data available through AI assistants rather than fixed application interfaces alone. In the security sector, where resellers often work across support, installation, account management and renewals, that may reduce time spent switching between systems to gather routine information.

For Brivo, the move extends its use of AI beyond surveillance and security monitoring into channel operations and customer administration. The company says it has more than 2 million devices deployed across more than 100,000 locations in 80 countries, with more than 25 million users worldwide.

The release remains limited in one important respect: it does not permit control actions. Resellers can inspect data and prepare outputs, but they cannot yet use the product to make operational changes to customer systems.
