Accenture has appointed Emma Chalwin as Chief Marketing Officer. She will join from Workday on 1 October and oversee Accenture's global marketing and communications organisations, reporting to Chair and Chief Executive Officer Julie Sweet.

Chalwin joins from the enterprise software sector to one of the world's largest consulting and technology services groups. At Workday, she served as Chief Marketing Officer and was responsible for brand and customer demand across international markets.

Before Workday, she held senior marketing leadership roles at Salesforce, Adobe, McAfee and Macrovision. Accenture said she has more than 30 years of global marketing leadership experience.

The appointment comes as Accenture continues to emphasise artificial intelligence and business reinvention in its market positioning. Her remit will span both marketing and communications as the company seeks to present its services to clients globally.

Accenture generated about USD $70 billion in revenue in its 2025 financial year and said it serves about 9,000 clients. It also said it employs about 799,000 people.

Sweet said the hire supports that broader push.

"I am delighted to welcome Emma to Accenture," said Julie Sweet, Chair and Chief Executive Officer of Accenture. "Emma is a proven growth leader who understands how to turn breakthrough technologies into compelling client value and commercial impact. As Accenture leads in the reinvention of business through AI, her ability to connect brand, demand and sales will help us bring our innovation and the measurable results we deliver for clients to more organizations around the world."

Chalwin brings experience marketing for large technology groups that sell to business customers, a background relevant to a company that combines consulting, technology implementation and managed services. Her previous employers span cloud software, design software and cybersecurity.

She has also been recognised in several industry lists of senior marketers, including Forbes' World's Most Influential CMOs list, the B2B CMO 100 and Chief's New Era of Leadership lists. Accenture also noted that she is a member of the Fortune Most Powerful Women network.

AI focus

Accenture has increasingly centred its corporate narrative on helping large organisations adapt to changes in technology, particularly AI. It said its strategy is to be the reinvention partner of choice for clients and to lead in the safe and widespread adoption of AI.

The group said it offers services across cybersecurity, finance, supply chain, engineering, talent, technology, data and industry operations. Chalwin's appointment puts responsibility for presenting that broad portfolio to the market under a new senior executive hired from outside the company.

Chalwin described the role as a chance to develop the brand during a period of change in corporate technology and customer priorities.

"Accenture is one of the world's most admired companies, and I am truly honored to build on the legacy of its brand at a time when organizations are reimagining growth in the age of AI," said Emma Chalwin, Chief Marketing Officer of Accenture. "This is an extraordinary opportunity to help shape Accenture's next chapter of reinvention, building market influence, driving demand and deepening client relationships. I'm excited to harness the power of AI while keeping human connection at the heart of everything we do."
