XMA installs digital signage across three UK offices

XMA has rolled out a digital signage platform across its three UK offices, using TrilbyTV software, Chrome OS and Acer Chromebox Mini devices to improve internal communications across its distributed workforce.
The rollout replaces manual communication processes with centrally managed digital displays that allow messages to be targeted to different office locations and departments. XMA said the system addresses communication challenges across multiple sites where staff receive information through crowded email inboxes and messaging platforms.
Operating across three main offices and dozens of business divisions made it increasingly difficult for XMA to distribute internal updates efficiently. The company sought a platform that could be managed centrally while fitting into its existing technology environment.
Digital signage was selected to present important information on displays positioned throughout offices, giving employees access to updates in shared spaces rather than relying solely on email or messaging platforms.
Nick Cox, Google Business Manager at XMA, said Chrome OS was selected because it supports kiosk mode in enterprise environments managed through the Google Admin Console.
Acer Chromebox Mini devices form the hardware platform for the rollout. XMA said the compact, fanless systems are designed for straightforward deployment and can be mounted behind display screens using the supplied mounting kit.
Central management
TrilbyTV provides the cloud-based content management platform used across the organisation's offices.
Administrators can monitor whether display devices are online or offline, organise screens by office location and manage displays within specific areas such as canteens and administration offices.
Communication teams can also schedule content for different times and locations, allowing messages to be tailored to particular audiences. Company-wide announcements can be distributed to multiple screens from a single management interface.
"It's an amazing thing because what would have taken me a day's worth of work, I can now do in about 15 minutes," said Ben Webber, Internal Comms, XMA.
Workplace updates
Digital displays now form part of XMA's day-to-day communication strategy, providing staff with operational updates and company information throughout its offices.
Content can be customised for individual locations while remaining centrally managed. This allows communication teams to publish location-specific information without maintaining separate systems for each office.
Chrome OS, Acer Chromebox Mini devices and TrilbyTV were integrated into XMA's existing technology environment without requiring major changes to infrastructure.
Time savings
Cloud-based management allows communication staff to update displays remotely rather than visiting individual offices to make changes.
XMA said the combination of centrally managed software and dedicated signage hardware has reduced the effort involved in distributing information across multiple locations.
The deployment reflects wider adoption of digital signage as organisations look beyond email to communicate operational information with employees working across distributed office networks.
"We can disseminate the information we want effectively and efficiently. It's just been a dream, the software just works and it's been so easy to set up the Acer Chromeboxes, it's literally just plug and play," said Webber.
