TeamSystem buys Spain’s AIG Classic in e‑invoicing push
TeamSystem has acquired Spanish management and accounting software provider AIG Classic, expanding its presence in a market preparing for mandatory electronic invoicing.
The buyer, an Italian business software and AI company, said the transaction forms part of its international growth strategy and strengthens its footprint in Spain. AIG Classic develops software for small and medium-sized enterprises, micro-businesses and professionals.
AIG Classic reported revenue of more than €5.5 million in 2025 and serves more than 34,000 customers. The company has about 55 employees.
Spanish push
Spain is moving towards wider electronic invoicing requirements. The VeriFactu system starts in 2027. B2B e-invoicing follows in 2028, according to TeamSystem.
The regulatory shift has drawn attention from software groups that sell finance, tax and workflow tools to smaller firms. TeamSystem noted similarities between the Spanish and Italian markets and expects regulatory and technology convergence across Europe.
TeamSystem ended 2024 with revenue of EUR 1 billion, up 19% year on year. The group said it has more than 5,000 employees and around 2.5 million customers using its proprietary cloud-based digital platforms.
AIG products
AIG Classic was founded in 1994 in Vigo, Galicia. TeamSystem said the Spanish company has built a customer base across the Iberian market with products designed to meet local operational and regulatory requirements for small firms.
AIG Classic's portfolio centres on two products. ClassicGes is a business management product that covers company processes across the value chain. ClassicConta focuses on accounting and financial processes and includes tools for tax compliance and reporting.
Buyers of SME software in Spain have faced evolving requirements for digital record-keeping, invoicing, and tax reporting. Software providers have responded with products that link accounting, invoicing and compliance features, and with services aimed at professional users such as accountants and advisers.
TeamSystem has built its business in Italy around platforms for companies and professionals. It sells AI-based software, SaaS, and cloud technologies, according to the company. It said its platforms cover internal processes and collaboration across business networks.
Deal rationale
TeamSystem framed the acquisition as part of a broader European expansion. It described Spain as strategically important for the group's growth plans.
"This acquisition fits naturally into our international growth journey," said Federico Leproux, CEO, TeamSystem. "AIG Classic is a well-established technology company with deep knowledge of the market and the needs of SMEs and professionals. We continue to invest in businesses that share our vision: supporting digitalisation through simple, innovative and reliable solutions that deliver tangible value to users in their everyday work."
AIG Classic's founders said the business had focused on local needs since its inception in Galicia and had grown through employee efforts and customer relationships.
"We are very pleased to become part of a Group like TeamSystem," said Santiago Viso and Edelmiro Gonzalez, Founders, AIG Classic. "AIG Classic was born as a company deeply rooted in its territory and focused on the concrete needs of SMEs and professionals, and over the years it has grown thanks to the work of our team and the trust of our customers. This transaction represents an important recognition of the path we have taken and an opportunity to continue developing our solutions within a solid and well-structured Group."
TeamSystem said Garrigues advised on legal and labour matters, and KPMG conducted financial and tax due diligence. Evergreen acted as legal advisor to AIG Classic and Tresmares.
