Simon Gooch joins Saviynt as Senior VP to lead digital identity

Thu, 22nd Aug 2024

Simon Gooch, a former leader at Accenture with extensive expertise in digital identity and security services, has joined Saviynt as the Senior Vice President of Expert Services. Gooch's appointment aims to bolster Saviynt's efforts in transforming organisations from legacy identity solutions to its advanced digital identity governance platform.

Gooch brings over 25 years of experience from Accenture, where he served in roles such as Global Digital Identity Lead and Director of Security for the Chief Information Officer. During his tenure at Accenture, Gooch was pivotal in major IT digital transformation projects, including the shift from on-premise security systems to a dynamic, cloud-first model focusing on identity, access, and data governance.

Paul Zolfaghari, President at Saviynt, expressed his enthusiasm regarding Gooch's new role, saying, "We are thrilled to strengthen our leadership team with the addition of Simon, one of the industry's most respected and highly-regarded IT and security visionaries. He brings deep experience from one of the world's largest organisations to Saviynt, where our customers will benefit from his strategic, future-focused perspective and vast knowledge."

In his new role, Gooch will focus on ensuring existing customers fully utilise Saviynt's identity management platform. He will also assist new companies contemplating identity modernisation initiatives, guiding them on how to make the most of such transformations with Saviynt's solutions.

Reflecting on his new position, Gooch commented, "As I start my journey at Saviynt, I have reflected on how this pivotal stage in my career aligns with what I see as an equally pivotal evolutionary stage in cybersecurity. I believe emphatically that only by truly making identity the fabric that binds, protects and enables all technology can you look to securely and effectively transform businesses. I am excited to be joining an organisation that not only has the desire to play a key role in shaping this next evolutionary stage but has brought together a team of people whose passion, expertise and experience will set the blueprint for an innovative and successful future."

During his career at Accenture, Gooch had significant responsibilities, including ensuring the technology that underpins Accenture's operations was secure. His role was critical, given the company's scale, which includes a global business worth USD $150 billion, a workforce of 780,000 people across more than 120 countries and over 400 office locations. Reporting to Accenture's Chief Information Officer and working directly with the Chief Information Security Officer, Gooch was accountable for the overall digital identity strategy, implementation, and management of all Identity and Access Management services.
