SAS & NET2GRID join forces to transform energy intelligence

Fri, 17th May 2024

NET2GRID, an EnergyAI software as a service (SaaS) company, and data and AI leader SAS, have formed a partnership that aims to elevate customer intelligence and distributed energy resources (DER) grid planning in the energy retail and utility sector.

By enhancing the SAS Customer Intelligence 360 platform with NET2GRID's EnergyAI, this collaboration aims to equip energy companies with tailored marketing tools and precise, personalised energy insights and household energy profiles. Such a fusion of technologies promises to address the evolving needs of the industry's digital transformation, from custom marketing actions to the optimisation of DER grid planning.

Roderick Crawford, Senior Vice President for SAS Northern Europe, expresses his enthusiasm about the partnership, "We're delighted to be working alongside NET2GRID in helping energy and utility companies to drive business improvements through access to powerful analytics and AI. Not only will the partnership deliver better experiences for consumers, but it will help companies make better decisions when it comes to forecasting fluctuations in demand and optimising grid management."

Bert Lutje Berenbroek, CEO of NET2GRID, shared a similar sentiment, "We are excited to be collaborating with SAS. By integrating our NET2GRID EnergyAI product into the SAS Customer Intelligence 360 and energy forecasting solutions, we're poised to revolutionise customer engagement, personalised marketing, and energy management for energy retailers and DSOs (distribution systems operations) worldwide. This partnership exemplifies our commitment to innovation and delivering unparalleled value to our customers together with expert partners like SAS."

A prominent feature of the partnership is its capacity to provide comprehensive insights about residential electric vehicles, photovoltaic systems, and batteries within their customer bases to energy companies. This enables utilities to launch preventive marketing actions and enhances DER grid planning capabilities by providing demand response and forecast estimates. This is made possible by leveraging the SAS forecasting tool and NET2GRID's DER intelligence insights. Additionally, the unique blend of solutions enables a comprehensive utility data journey, from low-resolution smart meter data to high-resolution real-time data.

Both NET2GRID and SAS are operating in the AWS cloud environment, which ensures seamless connectivity and agility in deploying their technologies. With a robust presence in northern Europe and the Nordic states, both companies cater to some of the largest energy businesses such as EDF Luminus and E.ON Germany. These companies have made a name for themselves as reliable partners in delivering innovative solutions to the energy industry.
