Revolut to become title partner for Audi F1 team from 2026
Revolut will become the title partner of the Audi Formula 1 team from the 2026 FIA Formula One Championship season onwards.
This partnership brings together Revolut, a global fintech company with over 60 million customers, and Audi's future F1 team, with both seeking to implement new strategies within their respective industries and to offer distinctive experiences for fans and customers during the race weekends.
Under the terms of the agreement, Revolut Business will be integrated into the Audi F1 team's financial operations, while fans can expect streamlined payment processes for merchandise, with Revolut providing seamless checkout solutions designed to facilitate retail experiences.
The collaboration also focuses on engaging a new generation of motorsport enthusiasts and extending exclusive offers to Revolut's customer base as part of the brand's efforts to connect financial services with global entertainment platforms such as Formula 1.
Partnership details
Revolut's figures indicate rapid growth, with the company aiming to reach 100 million customers globally. The deal represents one of its most significant ventures into sport to date, as Formula 1 continues to garner major global audiences, reporting approximately 820 million fans and 1.6 billion television viewers in 2024.
Revolut's Chief Executive Officer, Nik Storonsky, described the partnership as a reflection of the mutual goals between the two organisations:
"This is a monumental partnership for Revolut and the future Audi F1 Team. We're accelerating towards 100 million customers, and we'll be bringing them into Formula 1 with unforgettable experiences at a pivotal time for the sport. As Revolut continues to challenge the status quo in global finance, the future Audi F1 Team is set to do the same in motorsport. With a shared outlook, global ambition and relentless drive for progress, this partnership will define what's possible in Formula 1."
The title partnership also involves Audi's long-term strategy as it prepares for its first entry into Formula 1 as a factory team in 2026. The team's structure will include a power unit developed in Germany and collaborative operations across Switzerland and the United Kingdom, reflecting Audi's efforts to combine engineering expertise and motorsport talent.
Leadership views
Jonathan Wheatley, Team Principal of the future Audi F1 Team, emphasised the strategic alignment between Audi and Revolut:
"With Revolut, we have found a true partner that shares our core ethos of innovation and relentless ambition. This is more than a brand fit; it is a strategic alliance engineered to challenge conventions in motorsport. From 2026, Revolut's digital-first solutions will power key areas of our operations while also redefining how fans and communities engage with our team – delivering a seamless and engaging experience on and off the track."
Gernot Döllner, Chief Executive Officer of AUDI AG and Chairman of the Board of Sauber Motorsport AG, highlighted Audi's ambition for Formula 1 and the rationale behind the partnership with Revolut:
"Audi is entering Formula 1 with a clear ambition: to use the platform as a technologically relevant and economically sustainable investment in the future of the Audi brand. We firmly believe in the success of our project, which we are approaching with a realistic attitude and a mindset of continuous improvement. In Revolut, we have found a partner that shares our ambitions and attitude. Formula 1 is a global stage that offers us the opportunity to reach new target groups together and generate enthusiasm for our products."
Formula 1 context
The decision for Audi to enter Formula 1 is influenced by regulatory changes set for the 2026 season. New technical rules will require the use of sustainable fuels and higher proportions of electric energy in hybrid power units. These changes, viewed as important for the technological and environmental future of the sport, align with Audi's stated commitment to sustainable investment and innovation within the automotive sector.
Audi's F1 project will operate from three core locations: the headquarters in Germany for the power unit development, Switzerland for car development and race planning, and the UK for access to technical resources and motorsport personnel.
Both Revolut and Audi regard Formula 1 as a major global platform with significant potential for reaching new audiences and advancing their respective interests in technology and consumer engagement.
