QorusDocs has launched QPilot Workspace for law firm business development teams and lawyers. The product is aimed at pitches, proposals and request-for-proposal work in legal services.

The workspace lets teams use AI agents to build pitches, proposals and RFP responses using a firm's own matters, lawyer biographies and past pitch material. It is designed for shared use by business development, marketing and practice teams.

QorusDocs targets a part of legal work where firms are under pressure to explain value to clients while managing increasingly complex bidding processes. Its research found that 74% of legal respondents said at least half of existing client sales come from RFPs, while 46% said at least half of new business revenue comes from winning RFPs.

The same research also points to the scale of internal coordination involved. Some 16% of firms said more than 50 people can be involved in reviewing an RFP response.

Workflow focus

The new workspace is structured around different stages of a legal pursuit. PursuitIQ helps firms assess whether an opportunity is worth pursuing by drawing on previous pitches and panel history.

At the preparation stage, AI agents surface relevant matters, lawyer biographies and credentials. During drafting, the system assembles pitches, RFP responses and presentation decks from approved firm content inside Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.

The product also supports personalisation and review. Lawyers are expected to add client-specific detail and practice nuance, while business development, marketing and practice leaders review material together in one shared environment. The aim is to reduce multiple document versions across offices and time zones.

"Every law firm has access to the same AI models, so context becomes the differentiator in winning new business," said Ray Meiring, Chief Executive Officer, QorusDocs.

"Generic AI tools won't give you a competitive edge in the pitch. That's why we built QPilot Workspace for legal services firms. It's grounded in our pursuit intelligence, which understands legal business development workflows and builds proposals on a firm's people, matters and pitch performance insights to help it win," said Meiring.

Data sources

A central issue for law firms adopting AI in business development is where the underlying information comes from and how sensitive material is handled. Winning work often depends on internal knowledge such as matter history, relationship context and records of what worked in earlier pitches.

QPilot Workspace connects with Microsoft 365, Litera Foundation, Intapp DealCloud and iManage. Those links are intended to pull in experience data, lawyer biographies and approved content without manual re-entry.

The product also runs inside Microsoft 365. QorusDocs has added Model Context Protocol connectors intended to let teams use QorusDocs from within Copilot, Claude or ChatGPT.

Security questions

Concerns over confidential client information remain a major constraint on wider AI use in legal services. Firms building internal AI tools have been cautious about exposing experience files and client matter data to general-purpose systems.

According to QorusDocs, the platform runs on Microsoft Azure OpenAI and keeps client data, matter information, and firm intellectual property within the firm's Microsoft 365 environment. It added that such data is not used to train public models.

The platform is SOC 2 Type II and GDPR compliant, and includes role-based permissions and approval workflows. Firms weighing whether to extend AI from legal research and drafting into front-end business development will likely examine those features closely.

QorusDocs works with law firms including DLA Piper, Baker McKenzie, Herbert Smith Freehills, Kramer and Womble Bond Dickinson. Customers can sign up for QPilot Workspace access now.
