Point74 launches Pro PLM platform for UK food makers

Wed, 4th Feb 2026

Point74 has launched Point74 Pro, a ready-to-use food lifecycle management platform aimed at small and mid-market food manufacturers in the UK.

The company said the new product covers product development, finance and technical workflows in a single system. It targets manufacturers that still rely on spreadsheets for recipe development, technical data and costing.

Point74 sells food product lifecycle management software, often described in the sector as PLM. The company said users can digitise recipe creation and manage technical data alongside costing and compliance records. It also said the platform produces outputs suitable for retailers.

Market position

Point74 said its Enterprise platform is used by large food brands and retailers in the UK, including Krispy Kreme, Waitrose and Charlie Bigham's. It also cited use by Pilgrims, Compleat Food Group and Moy Park, as well as Morrisons.

The company positions Pro as a smaller, ready-to-use option. It said the product uses the same core platform as its Enterprise system. It is aimed at manufacturers that are scaling product development and increasing the number of new product launches.

Point74 also said it has been included in Gartner research on PLM in the food and beverage industry. It said it was the only UK-based provider referenced in that research.

One dataset

Point74 said Point74 Pro centralises recipe data, costing data and technical specifications. The company linked the approach to fewer errors and tighter control of margin assumptions during product development.

"Point74 Pro is for manufacturers who are growing fast, launching more products, or struggling with their development, and are feeling the strain of manual processes. When recipes, costs and technical data live in different places, it is too easy for errors to slip in and margins to leak out. Point74 Pro brings everything into one controlled platform so teams can move faster and launch products with confidence," said Mark Wood, Chief Commercial Officer, Point74.

Point74 described the product as a response to pressure on food manufacturers to move faster on new products while meeting regulatory and retailer requirements. The company said Pro avoids heavy customisation. It also said the product avoids a long installation process.

Functions

Point74 said the Pro system includes structured version control for recipes. It said the product shows costing and margin impacts earlier in the development process. It said the system generates consistent technical outputs and retailer-ready outputs from one dataset.

The company also highlighted compliance use cases. It said the system reduces manual handling and data duplication. It said this improves control of product data across its lifecycle.

Point74 also framed the product around cross-functional working. It said Pro improves visibility between new product development teams, technical teams and commercial teams.

"Food manufacturers do not need another generic system; they need a platform that understands the realities of recipe-driven production, change control and compliance. Point74 Pro is engineered around clean master data, structured specifications and practical integrations, so teams get immediate insight into what is changing, what it impacts and what it will cost, before it becomes a problem," said Will Telford.

Roll-out plans

Point74 said Point74 Pro is available now to UK food manufacturers. The company said it offers structured onboarding and support. It said this work covers data migration and data cleansing, plus workflow adoption.

Point74 said the product is positioned for growing manufacturers that want a single platform for recipes, costing and compliance, rather than multiple spreadsheets and disconnected files.
