European cloud leader, OVHcloud, has launched two significant additions to its ongoing Public Cloud Portfolio: OVHcloud Managed Rancher Service and OVHcloud Data Platform.

The OVHcloud Managed Rancher Service is an innovative, self-service solution that significantly simplifies the management of Kubernetes clusters. As Kubernetes nodes become the de facto standard for modern workflows, this unique solution enables a secure, centralised orchestration of such clusters. The new service is fully operated by OVHcloud and developed in partnership with SUSE.

Upon the service's launch, Peter Smails, General Manager, Enterprise Container Management at SUSE, commented, "We are excited to see OVHcloud offering our Rancher solution to its customer base. The OVHcloud Data Platform, now available in Beta, is a comprehensive end-to-end data platform that offers a unique low code solution for managing the data pipeline and analytics. It ensures the secure collection, storage, management, analysis, and visualisation of data, and is also designed to prevent unauthorised access and breaches, in line with data protection laws and regulations.

Yaniv Fdida, Chief Product and Technology Officer at OVHcloud, described the collaborations with SUSE as inspiring, saying, "With this unique solution we not only renew our commitment towards open-source but we also offer SMB and corporate customers a state of the art solution for a fully reversible cloud."

Following the high interest shown in the Alpha version, OVHcloud is gearing up to release a new public Beta version of the OVHcloud Data Platform. This new milestone will benefit from a new Storage Engine, utilising cutting-edge open-source Data Lakehouse techniques. The solution's applications span areas such as CRM enhancement and streamlined inventory management.

Both the OVHcloud Managed Rancher Service and the OVHcloud Data Platform utilise OVHcloud's renowned infrastructure expertise, featuring environmentally friendly data centres in line with the highest security and data protection standards. "

In March, OVHcloud exhibited at KubeCon Europe 2024 in Paris, which is considered a high-profile event for cloud native and open-source adopters as well as technologists. The cloud leader used the opportunity to showcase the newly launched Public Cloud solutions, as it continues to expand its PaaS offerings for an evolving market.
