OutSystems 2025 Innovation Awards highlight AI-driven solutions
OutSystems has announced the winners of its 2025 Innovation Awards, recognising organisations across several sectors for their application of artificial intelligence in developing impactful software solutions.
The awards highlight businesses using AI and low-code development to address business, operational, and community challenges. Among this year's recipients are Roche, Clarins, and The Pokémon Company International, who were commended for their approaches to digital transformation and process optimisation.
Recognising AI-driven achievements
Woodson Martin, Chief Executive Officer at OutSystems, commented on the significance of the awards:

Winners were selected for their advancements in areas ranging from customer experience and social impact to internal process efficiency and core system transformation. Participating organisations spanned industries including banking, pharmaceuticals, automotive, non-profits, and entertainment.
Sector-wide implementations
Abu Dhabi Social Support Authority (SSA) was recognised in the Community Impact category for delivering a digital solution aimed at providing timely financial support to families. SSA reported building two additional services ten times faster than traditional approaches and earning a 95% customer satisfaction score. Dr. Salem Al Mahri, Support Services Director at SSA, reflected on their recognition:
"Winning the OutSystems Innovation Award in the Social Impact in Government category is a proud achievement for the Abu Dhabi Social Support Authority and a direct reflection of the UAE's vision to ensure a dignified life for every Emirati family. Faced with a tight four-month deadline, our small, agile team chose OutSystems to deliver a scalable and user-friendly digital application, successfully launching it on time and integrating with key government entities."
Clarins, a global beauty and skincare group, received the Operational Velocity award for streamlining back-office operations across ERP, IT, HR, and finance. The firm was able to save USD $140,000 on a single application while decreasing app development time by 60 per cent. Clarins has deployed 10 applications across 15 countries, supporting its sales and distribution processes and enhancing coordination between IT and business units.
The Pokémon Company International developed an app for Pokémon Day events, connecting 14,000 players with local activities within a month and increasing both attendance and user satisfaction. Roche, in collaboration with Axians, received the AI Achievement award for developing generative AI solutions, including an employee support companion and an AI assistant builder for domain-specific challenges. Following deployment, the employee companion app achieved 80,000 users within a year, with the AI assistant securing 5,000 active users in just six months.
Additional winners included Global Automotive Group for standardising operations with a unified core ERP system, Paragon Bank for launching a mobile savings app attracting thousands of users in a short period, and Petrobras for establishing a low-code centre that accelerated development and created AI-driven auditing processes that cut research time by up to 90 per cent.
SeAH Group modernised hundreds of screens in its manufacturing system, tripling developer productivity and cutting the time required for new features. Tokyo Electron transitioned from a monolithic ERP to a modular system, launching over 100 new applications and achieving significant cost and time savings.
Promoting social good through technology
The Build for the Future Hackathon also concluded with recognition for initiatives supporting non-profits and education. The top prize went to a team for developing Persistent Ecovison, a smart waste management app covering all stages from collection to recycling. VoluntAI took second place with a volunteer management platform supporting parents of children with cancer, and NovioQ DAIKnow secured third for an educational app generating learning sessions and assessments for teachers.
The hackathon brought together 84 teams representing 22 countries, with a focus on using AI and low-code tools to tackle real-world challenges. Developers utilised OutSystems Agent Workbench and Mentor to create their submissions, underlining the proliferation of human-AI collaborative approaches in application development.
The Innovation Awards and the hackathon serve to highlight the continued evolution of AI-enabled software deployment in business and society, as global brands seek to harness new technology for improved efficiency, reach, and impact.
