OneClickComply has raised £1 million from Mercia Ventures and Northstar Ventures to support its expansion.

The investment came from the North East Accelerate Fund, managed by Mercia Ventures, and the Venture Sunderland Fund and Northstar EIS Growth Fund, both managed by Northstar Ventures.

The Sunderland cyber security company sells software designed to help businesses meet standards including Cyber Essentials, ISO 27001 and SOC 2. According to OneClickComply, its platform can automate up to 90% of the work involved in certification, including monitoring IT systems, generating policies, supporting vulnerability management and gathering material for auditors.

The company says the software can also change security settings across services including Microsoft 365, Google Workspace and AWS with a single click. After certification, the platform is designed to identify and fix issues that could affect continued compliance.

The business was launched in 2024 by founder Connor Greig, who previously worked with businesses within Octopus Group. It now employs 12 staff and serves dozens of customers, ranging from sole traders to a large fast food brand.

OneClickComply says monthly recurring revenue has doubled in the past six months and it is targeting similar growth over the next six months.

The latest round takes the company's total funding to more than £2.4 million. The money will be used to develop its technology, expand sales and customer service, and create four jobs.

Greig said businesses were increasingly being asked by customers to demonstrate that their systems were secure before contracts were signed.

"Every business now gets asked to prove its systems are secure, usually by a customer who's about to sign. The answer shouldn't be three months and a consultant. We automate 90% of the work, fix the issues we find instead of just reporting them, and keep everything in place afterwards, which is the part everyone forgets about. That's why we've doubled revenue in six months - because this problem isn't going anywhere," said Connor Greig, co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of OneClickComply.

Investors said the company was operating in a market where compliance demands and cyber risks were increasing.

"OneClickComply offers a unique value proposition through its ability to automatically detect and remediate data compliance issues without the need for specialist intervention. This investment will support the company's continued growth, enabling it to capitalise on the increasing demand for automated compliance solutions driven by strong regulatory and market tailwinds," said Owen Conquest of Mercia Ventures.

Northstar Ventures had backed the company before this round through its Sunderland and EIS funds. It said the business had expanded since that earlier support.

"We're very pleased to support OneClickComply with further investment from our Venture Sunderland Fund and EIS Growth Fund. The business has grown significantly since our initial investment and it is tapping into an increasingly complex compliance and cyber security market where the risks of a breach or non-compliance are continuously rising. Congratulations to Connor and the team," said Tom O'Neill, Investment Manager at Northstar Ventures.

Regional backing

The North East Accelerate Fund provides investments of up to £1 million for early-stage companies in the region. It was established by the North East Fund with support from the North East Mayoral Strategic Authority.

Jason Hobbs, Chief Executive of North East Fund, said the deal showed continued backing for growth businesses in Sunderland and across the wider North East.

"It's great to see OneClickComply, a Sunderland-based business, secure investment to support its continued growth. We're proud to support businesses across Sunderland and the wider North East, and help companies like OneClickComply grow and create new opportunities in the region," said Hobbs.
