Mphasis gains AWS AI Competency for generative AI work
Mphasis has secured the AWS AI Competency, an official partner designation from Amazon Web Services that recognises the firm's technical proficiency and proven track record in artificial intelligence and machine learning. This accreditation acknowledges the company's capability in building, deploying, and scaling both traditional AI and generative AI systems leveraging AWS infrastructure.
To achieve this status, Mphasis underwent a rigorous evaluation process that assessed its proprietary solutions and verified customer references. The AWS AI Competency programme, managed within the broader AWS Partner Network, requires participants to meet stringent technical and customer success criteria. By validating real-world use cases across various industries, AWS ensures that partners with this designation possess the specialised expertise necessary to deliver complex AI transformations.
Mphasis said the competency built on its collaboration with AWS. That work includes an AWS Gen AI Foundry led by its Mphasis.ai unit.
Partner status
Mphasis positioned the competency as a signal to enterprise buyers that it can take generative AI projects beyond pilot work. The company said the Gen AI Foundry focuses on moving initiatives from experimentation into production on cloud-native architectures. It also referenced responsible AI practices in the same programme.
"Achieving the AWS AI Competency is a strong validation of our strategic focus on Generative AI and our ability to deliver real-world, production-grade AI solutions for global enterprises. We are helping customers unlock tangible business value from AI by combining cloud scale, deep engineering, and differentiated IP such as Mphasis NeoIPTM," said Nitin Rakesh, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, Mphasis.
The statement links the AWS designation with Mphasis' internal product work. Mphasis described NeoIP as a framework used across modernisation, knowledge engineering and domain-specific generative AI use cases.
NeoIP focus
Mphasis said NeoIP formed part of its differentiation in AI engagements. The company described it as an approach that speeds up AI-led transformation work. It also said it addressed operationalisation, security and scaling for enterprise deployments.
The company did not disclose financial terms connected to the AWS competency designation. It also did not provide customer names in its announcement.
Mphasis operates as a technology services provider with a focus on engineering services and digital transformation work. The company offers modernisation services for core systems and runs an AI practice through its Mphasis.ai unit. It also references internal delivery structures it calls AI-powered "Tribes".
AWS has expanded its partner competency programmes alongside growth in demand for generative AI services. Enterprises have been assessing partner credentials as they move from experimentation into governed deployments. Providers have increasingly relied on cloud infrastructure vendors for model access, tooling and operational controls.
Mphasis said the AWS AI Competency strengthened its position as a transformation partner for enterprises that want to modernise systems and apply generative AI in customer and operational workflows. The company framed the designation as part of its broader partnership with AWS and its ongoing work on cloud-based AI delivery.
"Achieving the AWS AI Competency is a strong validation of our strategic focus on Generative AI and our ability to deliver real-world, production-grade AI solutions for global enterprises. We are helping customers unlock tangible business value from AI by combining cloud scale, deep engineering, and differentiated IP such as Mphasis NeoIPTM," said Rakesh.
