Mangopay & Mobile.de partnership to boost online car purchases
Mon, 19th Feb 2024

Mangopay, a payment infrastructure provider for marketplaces and platforms, has joined forces with Mobile.de, Germany's largest automotive marketplace, aiming to revolutionise the experience of buying a vehicle. This news comes amidst the increasing trend towards consumers moving to online marketplaces to purchase cars, a market which is forecast to reach a staggering $722 billion by 2030.

With the high-value transactions involved in buying and selling cars, it's crucial that businesses provide a secure and safe process. With Mangopay's e-wallet solution, both parties involved in transactions on Mobile.de can be assured of secure deals, contributing to a comprehensive user journey built on trust.

Thanks to this collaboration, consumers can safely pay or receive payments for vehicles directly on the Mobile.de platform. This not only improves security but also enhances user-friendliness for individuals engaging in automotive transactions.

Founded in 1996, Mobile.de is Germany's most extensive automotive marketplace, with approximately 1.4 million advertised cars, commercial vehicles and motorcycles. Both private customers and around 40,000 registered vehicle dealers use the platform. Working with Mangopay's user-friendly system is set to benefit these customers, allowing payment transfers only to be processed once the buyer confirms to be pleased with the purchase. This provides peace of mind to sellers that funds are being handled in a trusted environment, and transactions will go directly into an account of their choice.

Ajay Bhatia, CEO at Mobile.de, commented: "For many people, buying a car is one of their biggest investments, and there is a great need for a safe payment solution. We have therefore launched 'Safe Pay' in close cooperation with Mangopay. We are convinced that Safe Pay will drastically improve the user's car buying journey."

Romain Mazeries, CEO at Mangopay, shared Ajay Bhatia's enthusiasm for the new venture. He said: "Supporting the growth ambitions of the marketplaces we work with is core to our mission at Mangopay. We're delighted to be working with Mobile.de to transform its offer and customer journey. We're committed to driving their growth and delivering an exceptional user experience through our solutions."

The collaboration between Mangopay and Mobile.de represents an exciting development in the future of online car transactions. With advanced security and streamlined processes, users can engage in high-value car transactions with greater confidence and ease on the platform.
