Manchester dentist launches Radismile wellbeing app
A Manchester dentist has launched Radismile, a smile-based emotional wellbeing app that uses short guided audio sessions focused on facial expression and breathing.
The app centres on sessions lasting about three-and-a-half minutes, positioned as a quick way to ease stress and emotional fatigue during the day. Available globally on iOS and Android, it launches with a seven-day free trial.
Radismile was created by Dr Paul Pantiru, a dental surgeon with more than 17 years' experience, including over 12 years in the UK. He currently works at Turncroft Dental Practise in Stockport and MyDentist in Hollinwood, and has practised across Manchester, the North West and London.
App Structure
The app is built around a four-step framework called R.I.S.E: Regulate, Integrate, Strengthen and Elevate. Users are guided through short sessions described as "Emotional Supplements", combining prompts on smiling, breath patterns and nervous system regulation.
Designed to fit into everyday routines, Radismile is intended to be used alongside activities such as brushing teeth, rather than requiring longer blocks of time.

Clinical Origins
Pantiru developed the idea from observing stress in dental patients. He linked emotional strain to changes in breathing, posture and facial tension, and refined the concept through training in somatic practice, breathwork, sound healing and holistic therapy.
Radismile enters a crowded digital wellbeing market that includes meditation and breathwork apps. A Mental Health UK report for 2025 found that nine in ten UK adults experienced high or extreme levels of stress at some point during the past year.
"Working in dentistry, I spent years watching how emotion shows up physically in the face and body," Pantiru said. "A stressed person doesn't just feel different; their breath, expression and nervous system change. Radismile was designed to help people gently regulate that state in minutes, without needing long meditation sessions or prior experience."
Features Mix
Radismile focuses on micro-smiling cues and short-format audio sessions rather than longer meditation programmes. It also includes a mood-tracking dashboard where users can log emotional check-ins and view patterns over time.
Based on check-ins, the app generates personalised "Smile Rituals", with suggested activities such as breathwork, guided reflection and gratitude journaling.
A community feature called Smile Stories lets users share reflections and read posts from others in different locations.
Business Plans
The app has been self-funded so far, with support from collaborators in the digital health sector. Discussions are underway with health organisations, gyms, dental groups and workplace wellbeing providers about potential integration.
Radismile is aimed at busy professionals, healthcare workers and people seeking short tools to manage stress between tasks. Pantiru said the goal is to offer a method that fits into daily routines and can be used without prior meditation experience.
