LearnUpon buys AI course creator Courseau, launches new tools

Fri, 30th Jan 2026

LearnUpon has acquired AI-focused course creation platform Courseau and set out new product and expansion milestones as it moves into 2026.

The Dublin-based learning management system provider said it plans to integrate Courseau into its platform in early 2026. The deal adds tools that convert organisational knowledge into structured courses.

LearnUpon also highlighted a new product feature called Learning Journeys and a series of leadership hires across product, engineering, marketing, customer experience and associations.

Courseau acquisition

LearnUpon described Courseau as an "AI-native platform" that creates courses from organisational knowledge. It said the technology produces structured, evidence-based courses in minutes.

The company said the Courseau addition pairs its learning delivery software with content creation tools. LearnUpon expects a full integration in early 2026.

The announcement lands as many employers and membership bodies review how they develop training materials and update compliance and product education content. LearnUpon positions its platform for internal employee learning, customer education and association member learning.

New product feature

LearnUpon launched Learning Journeys in April. The company said the feature automates workflows and delivers personalised learning at scale.

LearnUpon said Learning Journeys uses a canvas interface and branching logic. It said the approach reduces administration time. It also said it allows teams to deliver training based on context and timing.

The company said customers use LearnUpon for onboarding, compliance training, ongoing development, customer education and member learning. It listed Planhat, Oura Health, gWorks, Getz Healthcare, Florida Realtors and MIDFLORIDA Credit Union among users.

In one customer example, Proaxia Consulting highlighted its use of Learning Journeys for customer education.

"One of our core challenges was a knowledge gap. Only a small group knew how to use our solution to its full potential," said Eugenia Sanchez at Proaxia Consulting. "Building our Academy on LearnUpon allows us to scale that knowledge through structured, accessible Learning Journeys. We are now expanding our Academy to ensure no aspect of our products goes unseen."

Leadership hires

LearnUpon said it made appointments across product, engineering, marketing, experience and associations during 2025.

It appointed Brett Spencer as VP of Customer Experience in the second half of the year. LearnUpon said Spencer previously worked in customer success roles at Veriforce and Avetta.

LearnUpon also appointed Mark Stanley as VP of Marketing. It said Stanley has worked on global marketing teams at Salesforce and has a background in web development in the eLearning industry.

The company named Caroline Hynes as VP of Product and Aidan Donnelly as VP of Engineering. It also appointed Mark L. Jones as Global Director, Memberships & Associations.

Sites and expansion

LearnUpon opened a new global headquarters at One Park Place in Dublin. It described the location as a collaborative workspace for its expanding team.

The company also renovated its Belgrade office. It said Ireland's Minister of State Alan Dillon visited its Salt Lake City office during St Patrick's Day events.

Research and awards

LearnUpon published two research reports during the year. They were titled Customer Education in 2025 and The State of Learning & Development 2025.

The company also cited several awards and analyst assessments. It said co-founders Brendan Noud and Des Anderson were named EY Entrepreneur Of The Year finalists.

LearnUpon said it appeared on the Fosway 9-Grid for Learning Systems as a Strong Performer for the sixth year, with an Excelling trajectory rating. It also said ISG's Buyers Guide for LMS graded it an "A Leader" in Adaptability and Manageability, with improved scores in Reliability, Usability and Customer Experience.

LearnUpon said it received Brandon Hall Group HCM Excellence Awards recognition for the 11th consecutive year, including Silver for Best Learning Governance and Bronze for Best Compliance Training. It also cited multiple G2 badges, including Leader in Corporate LMS and Leader in Customer Education.

"The progress we made in 2025 supports our belief that learning should be easy, scalable and results-focused," said Brendan Noud, CEO and Co-Founder, LearnUpon. "We achieved strong global growth and led product innovation. We added new leadership talent and gained recognition from analysts and award programs. Our team delivers technology that helps organizations create meaningful learning experiences. These include workflow automation and AI-driven, expert-informed content creation. Inspired by our customers' ambition to build stronger teams, we stand ready as learning, development, and skills becomes a key global business priority."

LearnUpon said more than 1,500 businesses use its platform, including Zendesk, BambooHR, Gusto and The Adecco Group. The company said the Courseau integration is planned for early 2026.
