Kyndryl unveils secure AI framework to accelerate AI adoption

Thu, 2nd Oct 2025

Kyndryl has announced new capabilities within its Agentic AI Framework, aiming to help organisations securely scale AI across their businesses and accelerate the transition to AI-native operations.

The company has introduced several advanced features as part of its Agentic AI Framework. These enhancements are designed to move customers beyond isolated AI proof-of-concept projects, enabling the adoption of scalable, outcome-focused AI solutions across a range of industry sectors.

Framework features

The updated framework incorporates a secure-by-design core, intended to build, orchestrate and deploy AI agents with an emphasis on transparency and compliance. A notable component is its agentic ingestion capability, which analyses an enterprise's technology estate using insights from Kyndryl Bridge to extract and assess code, policies, data interdependencies, business objectives and other relevant insights.

Central to the offering is an agent builder tool, designed to assist enterprises in efficiently designing, testing and deploying AI agents. This builder leverages industry and domain reference architectures, as well as a catalogue of AI agents and agentic workflows, to facilitate the automation of processes such as code writing and testing. These agents are also created in accordance with compliance standards and security protocols, with a focus on preparing them for use in mission-critical environments.

The framework further includes consultancy from Kyndryl experts, who utilise proprietary tools and specialist knowledge to accelerate the adoption of agentic AI models.

Industry use cases

Kyndryl is applying the expanded Agentic AI Framework to specific industry challenges. One example is the development of agentic AI-enabled actuarial solutions for insurance companies. These solutions generate and embed AI agents into workflows, enabling dynamic generation of regulatory filings, proactive compliance checks and real-time decision support. Another application involves deploying AI agents that streamline government processes spanning areas such as taxation, licensing, immigration, and benefits. These agents are tailored to understand regulations and procedures, assisting civil servants and serving citizen and business needs by acting proactively.

In the banking sector, Kyndryl has collaborated with customers to automate complex manual processes, notably client onboarding. By embedding intelligent AI agents throughout all stages of application submission, review and validation, the Agentic AI Framework aims to streamline these procedures and enhance the customer experience.

Business outcomes and partnerships

Kyndryl reports that a quarter of its recent signings involve AI-related services, including data architecture, cloud and digital workplace solutions. The company is also working with alliance partners across its ecosystem to develop joint solutions and encourage adoption of the Agentic AI Framework within core business operations.

Educational partnerships form another strand of Kyndryl's efforts, focusing on engagement with universities worldwide to help train the next generation of AI professionals and researchers.

Leadership perspective

"With decades of mission-critical infrastructure expertise, unique intellectual property and our AI consult methodology, Kyndryl is poised to lead our customers through this paradigm shift toward agentic AI. Our differentiated approach blends agents within complex environments and empowers organizations to scale AI throughout their operations as they move to become AI-native."

This was the view shared by Martin Schroeter, Kyndryl Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, who emphasised the importance of integrating agents into complex operational landscapes to support the transition to AI-native models.

Kyndryl's infrastructure-oriented approach is supported by years of experience handling mission-critical systems, which the company sees as vital for implementing enterprise-scale AI-native workflows. The company's strategy incorporates the co-creation of customised projects with customers to bridge the gap between design and deployment and accelerate the realisation of business value across industries.

The Agentic AI Framework is intended to support future workforce models by defining the roles of AI agents within organisations and outlining how these agents will collaborate with employees. Kyndryl's consulting teams are supporting customers in identifying the professional skills and roles needed to achieve business outcomes alongside their agent counterparts.
