Keltbray launches AI & data academy with Multiverse

Thu, 19th Feb 2026

Keltbray has launched an AI and data training programme with upskilling provider Multiverse. An initial cohort of 25 staff has enrolled on courses covering generative AI productivity and data analysis.

The construction engineering specialist said the academies are part of a broader effort to build digital skills across the business as it works in regulated infrastructure and engineering markets. Keltbray operates in engineering, construction, demolition, decommissioning, remediation, environmental services and reinforced concrete framework.

The cohort is split between two Level 3 programmes delivered by Multiverse. Most participants will take the AI Powered Productivity course, with the rest joining the Data & Insights for Business Decisions programme.

The AI course focuses on generative AI tools used in office workflows, including Microsoft 365 Copilot. Keltbray expects participants to apply the training in day-to-day roles and collaborative work.

The data programme will focus on using business information to inform decisions, with the aim of strengthening internal analysis and reporting.

Operational focus

Keltbray linked the training to practical changes in how teams manage routine tasks. It expects the courses to reduce time spent on repetitive manual work and improve communication.

Security and compliance also form part of the operational agenda, particularly for services delivered in regulated environments.

Construction and engineering groups have increased their focus on data management and automation as projects generate more digital documentation and clients demand higher levels of reporting. Use of generative AI in administrative work has also grown, although many businesses remain cautious about governance, data handling and the reliability of outputs.

Keltbray said the academies are intended to build internal confidence and consistency in how staff use AI tools and interpret data, allowing teams to spend more time on planning and strategy.

Sector ambitions

Keltbray expects the programme to increase team capacity and support growth in the energy, digital, industrial and nuclear sectors, which often involve complex stakeholder environments and strict assurance processes.

The company said skills development is relevant to winning and delivering contracts where data traceability and documentation standards influence procurement decisions, and that the programme supports its wider business plans.

James Dawson, Head of Learning and Development at Keltbray, said: "We've launched the Keltbray AI Academy because we're at a point now where improving our Data and AI capability isn't just a nice-to-have - it's become essential. The work we do is getting more complex, the expectations are higher, and the opportunities are bigger. Building a strong foundation in these critical skills will strengthen our position within the industry and support our continued expansion into new sectors."

Multiverse described the partnership as focused on building AI and data skills through workplace learning. It provides training programmes designed to develop technical and analytical capabilities while staff remain in their roles.

Multiverse said it has trained more than 20,000 apprentices in AI, data and digital skills since 2016 and works with more than 1,500 companies across the UK and US.

Gary Eimerman, Chief Learning Officer at Multiverse, said: "In order for Keltbray to continue to grow their established and diverse portfolio across construction and engineering, team collaboration and strategic planning is key. The launch of our latest AI Academy presents an exciting opportunity to support staff in advancing toward the organisation's objectives, while nurturing talent development across the business."

Multiverse has attracted significant investor interest in recent years as employers increased spending on skills programmes tied to data and AI. The company announced a USD $220 million Series D funding round in 2022 and said the raise valued the business at USD $1.7 billion.

Keltbray added that the training aligns with its priorities around accessibility and inclusion, with learning routes designed for staff at different career stages. It expects the first cohort to apply the learning across teams as the academies develop.
