Ignition & Karbon integration aims to boost accounting firm efficiency
Ignition has announced a new integration with Karbon aimed at unifying billing and workflow automation for accounting firms.
The integration leverages Ignition's proposal-to-payment automation and Karbon's workflow management capabilities to streamline client engagement, onboarding, and payment processes.
Automation for accounting firms
Built on Karbon's latest API, the integration is designed to automate the entire lifecycle of a client – from signed agreement to payment and work delivery. Such automation intends to minimise manual processes often encountered in accounting practices.
Greg Strickland, Chief Executive Officer of Ignition, highlighted the operational challenges faced by accounting firms. He said, "Firms are bogged down negotiating agreements, chasing signatures and payments, then manually onboarding clients before real work begins."
"By using Ignition as a best of breed solution to automate recurring revenue and billing, together with Karbon to handle practice workflows, small to large firms can remove that friction. They can start work sooner and get paid faster, at scale."
The integration allows for automatic syncing of clients and creation of work items in Karbon immediately after a proposal is signed in Ignition. According to the company, this approach reduces the time spent onboarding new clients and eliminates the need for manual data entry, as the entire client set-up and work assignment becomes automated.
A continuous two-way data synchronisation is also included in the new features. This keeps client records current across both platforms and aims to reduce onboarding errors.
Efficiency and cash flow
Ian Vacin, Chief Partnerships Officer at Karbon, commented on the impact for scaling firms. He said, "With Ignition automating proposal-to-payment and Karbon orchestrating the work, scaling firms can streamline their entire client onboarding process."
"Combining our two platforms offers a powerful solution to improve firm efficiency, profits and cash flow."
The Ignition and Karbon integration has been available since 2018. The latest version of the integration introduces improved flexibility and greater control over workflows for users. According to Ignition, it is already in use at firms of all sizes.
User feedback
Justin Kurn, Chief Revenue Officer at accounting and tax firm Dark Horse CPAs, shared the direct impact the integration has had on their operations. He said, "Ignition and Karbon are the backbone of our firm to streamline operations."
"Automating engagements, payments and client onboarding has delivered massive efficiency gains and been a game-changer for our growth. The new integration is exciting, and is going to create serious leverage for our team."
The two-way synchronisation between Ignition and Karbon is intended to reduce double-handling of client data and help firms maintain more accurate information as their client base scales.
