Hyland unveils AI-driven content tools for European compliance

Tue, 14th Oct 2025

Hyland has introduced a range of advancements to its content management platform with the goal of supporting European enterprises as they respond to growing demands for artificial intelligence adoption and regulatory compliance.

The latest updates focus on enabling organisations to unify fragmented content, access real-time insights, and automate business processes across departmental and platform boundaries. The developments are aimed at helping sectors including financial services, healthcare, and government to make better use of unstructured data and drive automation at scale.

Content intelligence and automation

One of the primary features announced is the Enterprise Context Engine, which serves to unify content held across multiple repositories without requiring time-intensive data migration. This capability allows staff to access information from across their organisation instantly and in context, with the tool providing relevant data matched to user roles and workflows. As a result, employees can make more informed decisions quickly, without moving between systems or performing manual searches.

The system has been developed to support AI-driven automation by transforming unstructured enterprise data into forms that are ready for AI application. This supports more efficient processes and allows organisations to automate routine tasks, reducing manual effort and unlocking productivity gains in regulated industries.

AI agents and workflow orchestration

The Enterprise Agent Mesh, another key feature, enables coordination of multiple AI agents across various platforms and repositories. This orchestration capability helps enterprises automate complex, cross-system workflows without disrupting existing IT infrastructure. It connects agents to core tasks such as document classification, data extraction, or routing approvals, with the system adapting automatically to changing business rules or inputs to maintain alignment with enterprise goals.

Hyland's Agent Builder provides a point-and-click interface to rapidly create new, purposeful AI agents. This has already been demonstrated in use cases such as purchase invoice processing, document redaction, and claims review-areas that can often be resource-intensive and sensitive to errors.

Data enrichment and compliance

The company has also introduced Knowledge Enrichment and Knowledge Discovery tools to address the challenge of managing unstructured data. Knowledge Enrichment aims to transform data into AI-ready assets, with built-in data masking for over 600 file types and the ability to handle healthcare messaging standards such as HL7, supporting greater interoperability and data security.

Knowledge Discovery powers organisation-wide insights through agent creation, delivering outputs relevant to varied business contexts while supporting customisable AI compliance requirements. These tools are designed to help institutions maintain trust and relevance within their data-driven operations.

Enhancements across Hyland's platform

To further streamline business processes, Hyland Automate allows users to design processes and forms using natural language, which reduces configuration time and empowers business teams to quickly respond to operational needs. Its Intelligent Document Processing suite now features AI-based document reasoning and enhanced document class hierarchies to assist users in extracting deeper insights from their content more efficiently.

Updates have also been released for other platform offerings. Nuxeo LTS 2025V3 introduces a decoupled Elastic search architecture along with improved mass-upload capabilities and support for Google Cloud Platform. The Alfresco 25.2 release features increased dashboard performance, tailored capabilities for regulated industries, and a new SAP ILM Connector that aims to simplify content governance and GDPR compliance.

OnBase 25.1 brings new tools such as the Content Intelligence Connector and Knowledge Discovery integration, along with enhanced federation for robust authorisation and transparency. The release of a Cloud Update Service is intended to ensure timely access to new platform features while supporting ongoing compliance requirements.
