Fareteam is sharpening its focus on travel agents in Great Britain following growth in UK sales and long-haul flight bookings.

The flight-only booking platform, part of World Travel Centre Group, said the UK now accounts for 27% of its business, up from 18% in 2024/25. UK sales are already 27% ahead of last year's full-year total, pointing to stronger demand from British agencies selling long-haul travel.

Fareteam provides flight booking tools and support services to travel agents, with a focus on discounted airfares, long-haul travel, group bookings and more complex itineraries. It now works with more than 100 travel agencies and 500 active users, and its platform handles more than one million flight searches a year.

The renewed focus on Great Britain comes as travel sellers face a more fragmented airline distribution market. Agents are increasingly navigating a mix of fare structures, booking channels and ancillary options, particularly on long-haul trips, where bookings often carry higher values and more detailed customer requirements.

Fareteam said its airline booking technology, launched in June 2021, is expected to pass 110,000 passengers booked through the system, representing more than £40 million in sales. The system uses New Distribution Capability, or NDC, giving agents more direct access to airline fares, options and extras instead of relying solely on older booking systems.

According to Fareteam, bookings through its NDC-based technology recorded a four-year annual growth rate of 63% between 2022 and 2025. That expansion reflects a wider shift in how some travel agents source and manage air content, especially when they need more flexibility or access to fares outside traditional channels.

Group travel is also a growing part of the business. In 2025, Fareteam booked more than 275 groups and ticketed more than 7,000 passengers across sport, education, special interest and private tours.

That matters because group and long-haul itineraries often involve more moving parts than a standard short-haul booking. Agents may need to manage multiple travellers, different fare rules, schedule changes and extra services, increasing the time needed to complete a sale and the value of specialist support.

Fareteam also said a recent customer survey showed 98% customer satisfaction. While self-reported, the result suggests the business is positioning service as a key part of its offer as it expands in the British agency market.

Aidan Coghlan, Group Managing Director, World Travel Centre Group, said: "Fareteam has grown strongly through reputation, referrals and relationships, which tells us travel agents value the service and support they receive from the team.

"Our growth opportunity now is to ensure more agents in Great Britain understand what Fareteam can do for them, particularly when it comes to long-haul flights, where the value, complexity and customer expectations are often much higher.

"Fareteam's group booking activity has also continued to grow, with more than 275 groups booked and more than 7,000 passengers ticketed in 2025 across sport, education, special interest and private tour travel."

The focus on Great Britain also reflects the continuing importance of trade distribution in parts of the travel market where expertise remains valuable. While many straightforward air bookings can be made directly by consumers, travel agents still play a significant role in handling complex international itineraries, group travel and bookings where travellers want advice alongside ticketing.

Glenn Lowry, Head of Agency Sales, Fareteam, said: "Agents are dealing with a changing flight booking landscape. There are more fare types, more distribution routes, more rules and more pressure to deliver value quickly for customers.

"Fareteam removes this complexity and simplifies what can be a challenging and time-consuming process. Agents who use the platform have commended us for our approach and the dedicated support offered by our team of flight experts.

"For agents who book long-haul flights, we believe having that support makes a real difference. It saves time, boosts confidence and helps them make more from the enquiries that matter."
