Dell expands AI Factory with new AMD-powered servers

Dell Technologies has announced an expansion of its AI Factory with the addition of new PowerEdge servers aimed at enhancing AI adoption across enterprises.

The expansion includes five new Dell PowerEdge servers powered by AMD's 5th Generation EPYC processors. These servers are designed to provide high levels of performance, efficiency, and flexibility, supporting a diverse array of workloads.

Among the new introductions, the Dell PowerEdge XE7745 server features support for up to eight double-width or 16 single-width PCIe GPUs, allowing for dense and flexible configurations. It supports high-performance computing and AI inferencing, making it suitable for complex AI models and data management.

The PowerEdge R6725 and R7725 servers provide increased scalability and cooling capabilities, featuring advanced processing power due to AMD's EPYC processors. These models offer up to a 66% increase in performance and up to a 33% improvement in efficiency compared to previous generations.

With an emphasis on enhancing storage density, the PowerEdge R6715 and R7715 servers feature increased drive capacity and support for double the memory, catering to various workload requirements while maintaining compact design footprints.

Dell Technologies has also introduced the Dell Generative AI Solutions for AMD, which are designed to streamline AI deployment and improve security and modularity through the Dell PowerEdge XE9680 server equipped with AMD Instinct MI300X accelerators.

The Dell Enterprise Hub on Hugging Face now supports the latest PowerEdge servers with specialised scripts and containers for deploying AI models such as Llama and Mixtral, improving the ease of deployment and inference performance.

Dell Professional Services will expand to support these AMD environments with customised operational platforms aimed at providing customers with best practices in AI implementation and strategy development.
