DataStax & AWS collaborate to streamline generative AI solutions delivery
Tue, 5th Dec 2023

Real-time AI company DataStax has announced a strategic collaboration with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to streamline the delivery of progressive generative artificial intelligence (AI) solutions. The Strategic Collaboration Agreement (SCA) aims to expedite the adoption of generative AI technologies, providing customers with the means to launch precise applications designed to enhance customer experiences effectively.

The multi-year SCA is designed to encourage customer adoption of both companies' generative AI offerings and speed up customer innovation by efficiently delivering the technologies required for large language models (LLM), AI assistants, and real-time generative AI projects.

Consequently, the SCA forms a worldwide go-to-market effort to combine Article DB and AWS to co-build, co-market, and co-sell their AI products.

The importance of the SCA to AWS was highlighted by Mona Chadha, Director of Technology Infrastructure Partnerships at AWS, "DataStax brings innovative generative AI offerings powered by AWS and supports our customers in leveraging the power of LLMs to build autonomous agents and other real-time AI technologies."

"The focus of our SCA will be supporting our customers in leaning into generative AI and building the applications that will change the trajectory of their businesses."

Astra DB now supports generative AI development on AWS with a new integration for Amazon Bedrock. This managed service allows generative AI developers to access foundation models (FMs) from top-tier AI companies via an API to build and upscale generative AI applications. This solution gives developers real-time updates on crucial, real-life production workloads with zero latency.

Additionally, Astra DB is accessible via AWS PrivateLink, a service that provides connectivity between virtual private clouds (VPCs), supported AWS services, and on-premises networks without exposing traffic to the public internet. DataStax has received the AWS PrivateLink Ready Partner designation, indicating to customers the safety and dependability of working within Astra DB.

Chet Kapoor, Chairman and CEO of DataStax, noted, "From startups to enterprises, we know that organisations trust AWS to help them innovate with generative AI, and we're excited to work alongside AWS to support our shared customers in their journeys."

"Generative AI is all about delivering value at unprecedented speed, and together, through collaboration and deep technology innovations, we're helping organisations capture the generative AI opportunity that lies ahead so they can lay the foundation for the most transformative years to come."

The collaboration offers key features and developments that provide developers with real-time updates and best practices, ultimately making DataStax Astra DB an effective solution for generative AI applications.

The aim is to deepen the relationship between the two industry leaders through a combination of new, generative AI innovations and go-to-market, product, and technology integrations. These combined efforts enable customers to boost productivity and swiftly build and deploy accurate generative AI applications that drive unique customer experiences.
