Candura partners with iplicit to modernise UK mid-market finance

Sat, 23rd Aug 2025

Candura has announced a new partnership with cloud accounting provider iplicit to enhance its finance transformation services for UK mid-market organisations.

The collaboration follows the launch of iplicit's Channel Reseller Programme in 2024, and aims to provide mid-market businesses with more accessible and fit-for-purpose cloud-based finance solutions. Both Candura and iplicit identify a significant segment of UK mid-market organisations currently relying on outdated, on-premises enterprise resource planning (ERP) and finance systems.

Recent research conducted by iplicit, surveying 1,000 UK mid-market finance leaders, found that a majority (55%) are unable to meet the recognised industry benchmark of preparing and submitting month-end accounts within seven days. Many survey participants attributed these delays to manual data entry and obsolete finance software, highlighting a widespread reliance on legacy systems in the sector.

Mid-market focus

Candura and iplicit intend for their partnership to support SMEs that have outgrown entry-level cloud accounting solutions or have become dissatisfied with traditional on-premises vendors. The partnership will see Candura offering iplicit's cloud platform to help mid-market finance teams modernise their planning, processing, and reporting activities.

Iplicit joins Candura's list of technology partners, sitting alongside existing relationships such as financial planning and analysis (FP&A) software provider Vena. The partnership reflects Candura's strategy to expand its finance transformation services beyond FP&A for the UK mid-market.

"We're excited to be teaming up with iplicit, which, like Candura, is a partner-centric organisation that sees the right relationships as an essential part of its growth journey."

Chris Harman, Founder of Candura, commented further on the motivations behind the partnership and its potential impact for the mid-market:

"As mid-market specialists, we both understand the challenges mid-market businesses are facing and how limited they are by the finance software they are using today. Our mission is to enable finance teams to be more strategic by removing the outdated legacy tech and repetitive tasks that prevent them from focusing on higher-value, more empowering work."

He added:

"We could see that iplicit was on an exciting journey and filling a real gap in the mid-market that we can strongly identify with. iplicit will complement the work we're doing for businesses with Vena for planning and reporting, making it a perfect fit and an obvious choice for us."

Partner network expansion

For iplicit, the new relationship forms part of its broader approach to market growth, which emphasises collaboration with industry specialists across the mid-market. Paula Cooper, Head of Channel at iplicit, set out the rationale for broadening the company's partner network as it seeks to serve more mid-sized businesses:

"2025 has seen us continue to build on our momentum in the market with the support of a carefully curated partner network, chosen for their industry expertise and shared commitment to excellent mid-market customer service and solutions."

She continued:

"Partners like Candura are an invaluable part of our growth, strengthening our delivery capabilities and becoming part of our community alongside our accountancy partners and direct team. Candura shares our mission to help the tens of thousands of UK SMEs still tied to legacy on-premises systems (or constrained by entry-level tech) make the logical step to true-cloud accounting. We look forward to working with them to make a real impact on mid-market finance teams up and down the country."

Market context

The UK's mid-market sector has faced growing pressures to improve the efficiency and strategic capabilities of their finance teams, particularly as many organisations continue to experience manual bottlenecks and software limitations. With cloud solutions becoming more widely adopted, Candura and iplicit have both identified an opportunity to support these organisations' transition away from outdated legacy systems.

The partnership will allow Candura to extend its technology-driven approach further into financial operations, drawing on iplicit's real-time reporting and automation capabilities. At the same time, iplicit will benefit from Candura's expertise in scalable finance transformations and managed service delivery for mid-market clients.
