Assured Data Protection appoints Paul Dix as new CFO
Thu, 1st Feb 2024

Assured Data Protection, recognised IT managed services provider for cloud data protection solutions, has announced the appointment of Paul Dix as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO). With over 15 years' worth of finance experience under his belt, Dix will play a key role in helping drive Assured's strategic growth in this leading cloud data protection industry.

Dix will work in close partnership with Assured founders Simon Chappell and Stacy Hayes, as well as the wider leadership team. His main focus will be to build scalable systems, facilitate tactical decision-making, and provide support for Assured's operations as they enter their next phase of expansion. In the midst of rising cyber threats, Assured is experiencing growing demand for its critical services in the fields of managed backup, disaster and cyber recovery.

Assured's customer base is geographically widespread and commercially diverse, ranging from financial services and legal to pharmaceutical sectors. They manage over 400 customer sites in more than 40 countries, offering a comprehensively managed Rubrik service from design through to recovery and proactive support each day. In 2023, Assured was recognised for its excellence with the Rubrik Global Partner Award for MSP Partner of the Year.

Prior to joining Assured, Dix served as CFO of Crisp, a risk intelligence technology firm based in Leeds. During his tenure there, he was instrumental in helping the company navigate a period of significant growth before its acquisition by Kroll in 2022.

"Paul's experience helping take technology companies from startup to global leaders makes him the ideal leader to help Assured capitalize on our current momentum," said Simon Chappell, CEO, Assured Data Protection. "His expertise will be invaluable as we look to accelerate our expansion in key markets while continuing to deliver innovative disaster recovery solutions to our global customer base."

Dix shares this enthusiasm for his new role, stating, "I’m delighted to be joining Assured at this time in the company’s journey. Assured's compelling MSP model, driven by leading technology in Rubrik, is helping to deliver amazing value to customers needing backup, disaster recovery and business continuity solutions as a service. My focus is to build scalable processes and an organisational structure that can support our ambitious growth plans for 2024 and beyond."

As well as adding Dix to its crew, Assured has reshuffled its team, promoting Stewart Parkin to Global CTO and Andrew Eva to Global CIO. These strategic promotions align U.S. and U.K. operations more tightly and pave the way for further dynamic growth. Assured has also brought Phil Daveran on board as the new Head of Software Development, a testament to the company's commitment to continued innovation and automation in disaster recovery.

As the company propels towards its growth objectives, Assured is actively recruiting in a broad range of roles, including engineering, sales, support and marketing, with bold plans to double its headcount over the next three years.
