ANS has reduced IT alert noise by 83% after deploying LogicMonitor's Edwin AI. Early results also showed a 44% drop in average incident resolution times.

The UK managed services provider said the average time from case opening to closure fell from 89 hours in July to 50 hours in October, while monitoring-generated incident volumes dropped 45% over the same period.

Incident volumes declined from about 4,300 in July to 2,383 by late October. ANS said the reduction reflected event consolidation as well as normal seasonal variation.

The figures are among the clearest early examples from a UK managed services group of how AI tools are being applied to day-to-day IT operations. The changes have allowed engineers to spend less time dealing with routine alerts and more time on customer improvement work, according to ANS.

In the third quarter, engineers completed 21% more proactive improvement cases. Staff redirected time towards areas including cloud cost optimisation, security changes and automation work.

ANS also maintained service level agreement performance above 97% during the rollout. Across the deployment, Edwin AI processed 1.7 million events and deduplicated nearly 297,000 alerts.

Operational shift

Used alongside LogicMonitor Envision, the software connects related events, identifies root-cause context and recommends next steps for engineers. ANS said this has shortened investigations and reduced repetitive manual work.

ANS also reported a 500% return on its incremental spending on Edwin AI, based on recognised reductions in operational effort against the added cost of the software. It did not disclose the underlying financial value of that return.

Beyond internal efficiency gains, the programme has delivered more than 225 recommendations to customers, according to ANS. In one case, those recommendations led to more than £50,000 in realised savings for a single customer.

Kyle Hill, Chief Technology Officer at ANS, said the company sees the technology as a way to change how managed services teams spend their time.

"AI gives us an opportunity to fundamentally rethink how managed services are delivered," said Hill. "Our ambition is to free up our engineers' capacity so they can focus their expertise where it makes the biggest difference for customers, whether that's reducing costs, improving resilience or preventing issues before they happen."

The results come as managed service providers and in-house IT teams face growing pressure to manage large volumes of infrastructure data, alerts and incidents without increasing headcount at the same rate. In that environment, suppliers have increasingly argued that AI can reduce the amount of low-value operational work handled by technical staff.

For ANS, the main change appears to be event correlation and alert consolidation rather than the removal of human decision-making. Engineers still retain oversight of critical operational decisions as the company explores wider automation, it said.

Broader testing

Alongside the deployment, ANS has been testing how AI agents could be connected to operational data outside traditional monitoring workflows. Early work with LogicMonitor's Model Context Protocol has linked an internally developed AI agent to domain data, allowing teams to query infrastructure information and investigation context using natural language, according to the company.

Those Model Context Protocol functions remain in private preview. ANS said it is assessing possible uses before any production rollout.

LogicMonitor said the ANS results showed how AI can give engineers more room to focus on underlying system improvements rather than repetitive incident handling.

"Most IT teams aren't short on problems to solve. They're short on time to get ahead of them," said Sj. "ANS is showing what happens when AI helps engineers focus their expertise where it matters most. Engineers can spend less time chasing alerts and more time improving the systems their customers depend on. At LogicMonitor, we're turning the vision of Autonomous IT into reality, delivering measurable business value for our customers."
