Waracle secures deal to advance digital services for pensions

Tue, 18th Nov 2025

Waracle has signed a multi-million-pound agreement with People's Partnership, which manages the UK's largest commercial pension master trust. The contract extends the relationship between the technology consultancy and the pensions provider through to 2027, with a remit covering digital consultancy services for apps, platforms, and IT systems.

Digital focus

The project seeks to enhance the digital experience for People's Partnership's more than seven million members. Waracle's services will span across consumer-facing technologies, aiming to make pension management more accessible while driving engagement and transparency. The partnership expects the changes to support savers in better understanding and managing their pensions online.

People's Partnership, which operates the People's Pension, holds over GBP £35 billion in assets under management. As a not-for-profit provider, it reinvests profits back into member services, without the presence of shareholders.

Expanded role

Waracle has previously delivered mobile app solutions for People's Partnership. The new agreement marks an expansion in the consultancy's work, building on the successful deployment of the provider's existing app. The deal is expected to support digital jobs across central Scotland and London.

"We're delighted to extend our work with People's Partnership, a trusted organisation playing a vital role in helping millions of workers build a better retirement," said Adam Grant-Jones, Chief Growth Officer, Waracle.

"Our mission is to make complex digital services simple, human, and accessible - and pensions are one of the most important financial journeys a person will take. This collaboration allows us to build technology that improves transparency, strengthens engagement, and delivers long-term value for savers," said Grant-Jones.

Client perspective

People's Partnership sees digital enablement as core to its member services. "Technology is central to how we serve our members - from the way they enrol in a pension, to how they view their savings, to how they feel supported in planning for their future," said Nigel Rodgers, Chief Information Officer, People's Partnership.

"Waracle helped us deliver a new mobile app in under nine months, and their approach gave us confidence to scale up the relationship to deliver future enhancements. As a 'for-member' organisation, we're committed to continually reinvesting in better digital experiences, and Waracle will play a key role in helping us deliver that roadmap," said Rodgers.

Growth strategy

The contract comes as Waracle pursues further expansion, following its acquisition of Glasgow-based design and engineering agency Screenmedia. Waracle's client base covers financial services, including major banks, insurance firms, and organisations in life sciences and academia. The company is also backed by investor BGF, which supports its efforts to expand its reach in the digital consultancy sector.

Chief Executive David Tuck outlined Waracle's approach. "We have ambitious growth plans for Waracle, grounded in a strong track record, long-term client relationships, and an amazing culture. This partnership demonstrates the value we bring to clients tackling critical digital transformation. We're proud to support People's Partnership as we believe that our two organisations share similar values and are oriented towards principled growth," said Tuck.
