Volker Claus Christ appointed as EVP for global finance at Cherry

Cherry SE has announced the appointment of Volker Claus Christ as the new Executive Vice President for Global Finance, effective from 1 August 2024. Christ has been managing the entire finance department on an interim basis since February 2024. His new role will involve overseeing the finance and IT departments, reporting directly to CEO Oliver Kaltner.

Cherry SE, a well-known German manufacturer of keyboard switches and computer input devices, cited the significant improvements in transparency across its business units in the first quarter of 2024 due to the introduction of a centralised cost management system. Christ's appointment aims to maintain this momentum with strict cost controls and agile treasury management processes to ensure the company's long-term liquidity and financial stability during its growth phase.

"After an intensive early phase, we are on the right track to drive forward the reorganisation of Cherry SE's finance division. The responsibility I have been given offers a great opportunity to shape the further development of the finance and IT area in the company in a professional, sustainable and agile way and to provide the right impetus for this. Christ brings over 35 years of experience in controlling, auditing and financial analysis within international corporations, having previously worked with companies such as s.Oliver, Freudenberg and Procter & Gamble. His extensive international experience and expertise in restructuring and transformation processes have been highlighted as valuable assets for Cherry SE. Colleagues and industry professionals also recognise him for his hands-on mentality and results-oriented approach.
