Vertiv launches desktop PowerUPS 100 range in EMEA

Vertiv has launched the Vertiv PowerUPS 100 Standby Series, a new desktop uninterruptible power supply range for personal computing, gaming and networking devices in EMEA.
The series adds a compact UPS line to Vertiv's power portfolio for desktop and small office use. It is available in 230 V models, including lithium-ion and valve-regulated lead-acid versions, across several capacities.
Designed for distributed digital environments, the range is intended to keep devices running during power interruptions and reduce disruption to everyday computing. It can be used with personal computers, gaming consoles, smart devices, wireless networks, retail point-of-sale equipment and AI PCs.
The line includes up to eight outlets, combining battery backup and surge protection so users can connect several devices at once. Integrated USB-A and USB-C ports charge mobile devices, and the units can also be wall-mounted for tighter spaces.
Battery options and lifespan are central to the product design. User-replaceable batteries are intended to extend unit life and reduce maintenance costs for small offices and home users.
The new UPS range is also compatible with Vertiv's Power Assist software, allowing connected systems to shut down automatically during longer outages. The feature is designed to reduce the risk of data loss and equipment damage.
The range consists of four VRLA models from 500 VA to 900 VA, alongside one 350 VA lithium-ion model. The VRLA configurations carry a three-year warranty, while the lithium-ion version is backed by a five-year warranty.
"In today's increasingly distributed IT architectures, efficient and reliable power protection is critical," said Giuseppe Leto, Senior Director, IT Systems Business at Vertiv in EMEA.
He added: "The latest Vertiv PowerUPS 100 Standby Series completes the refresh of our desktop single-phase UPS portfolio, underscoring our focus on continuously evolving our offerings to help customers address technology advancements and changing usage requirements."
The launch reflects a wider shift in how power protection products are marketed beyond traditional server room and data centre settings. Desktop UPS systems have become relevant to a broader group of users as workstations, home offices, network equipment and connected retail systems take on a larger operational role.
For Vertiv, the launch extends its coverage further down the stack from larger infrastructure deployments to endpoint equipment. This gives the company a presence in applications ranging from centralised facilities to edge locations and individual desktop devices.
The inclusion of both VRLA and lithium-ion models also reflects different buying priorities in the small power protection market. Lead-acid products tend to appeal on upfront cost, while lithium-ion models are often chosen for longer warranty periods and a different maintenance profile.
The emphasis on compact size and wall-mounting suggests Vertiv is targeting space-limited settings such as home offices, tills, back-office counters and small business workstations. In those environments, a UPS is typically expected to support continuity for routers, payment systems, PCs and connected peripherals during short outages or voltage disturbances.
With capacities from 350 VA to 900 VA, the range sits at the lower end of the UPS market, where buyers usually focus on device protection, runtime for orderly shutdowns and ease of installation rather than large-scale backup requirements. The product set is intended to address those needs in a format suited to desktop deployment.
