Ur.co.uk unveils urBusiness, reshaping refurbished handset market

Fri, 20th Sep 2024

Ur.co.uk has announced the launch of urBusiness, a new proposition aimed at transforming the refurbished handset sector for telecoms and IT channels.

The new offering includes the Business Premium+ range and the urPortal platform, addressing long-standing issues of quality, consistency, reliability, and trust in the B2B refurbished handset market.

The Business Premium+ range includes a 24-month warranty, a case, a protective screen, and a minimum of 90% battery health. The company also continues to offer traditional refurbished graded handsets with the same commitment to quality and customer experience. All handsets come in premium packaging to assure business customers of the quality of their purchases.

Ur.co.uk has also launched urPortal, a platform designed to provide a streamlined and seamless experience for users. The portal allows stakeholders to add to their product portfolio with confidence, offering the ability to purchase refurbished handsets, trade in devices, and manage repairs, all with complete transparency. The interface enables users to see product details, stock levels, and pricing, making it easier to make informed sales decisions.

Barry Poke, CEO of ur.co.uk, highlighted the company's commitment to quality and sustainability. "We're excited to unveil a game-changing solution that tackles the biggest challenges telecoms and IT partners face when buying refurbished devices and embracing the circular economy," Poke said. "Our portal empowers partners to buy, trade-in, and offer repairs with total confidence - delivering premium devices at competitive prices, without compromise."

For 14 years, ur.co.uk has established its reputation through stringent quality controls and rigorous testing processes conducted by UK-based technicians. This ensures that every device sold meets the highest standards, providing peace of mind for business customers. Each handset is carefully inspected, tested, and certified, ensuring reliable and consistent performance.

Angie Ablard, former Head of Sales for Small & Medium Business at Virgin Media O2, has joined urBusiness as Director of Channel Development to spearhead the new offering. Ablard stressed the importance of shifting perceptions around refurbished devices.

"Breaking the stigma around refurbished phones and devices for business is smart and essential for driving a more sustainable future, but most people know this and that has not necessarily been the problem that needed solving. Historically, the inconsistency of supply and quality has made opting for the sustainable choice unnerving in the past, with confidence of the experience for the B2B customer being low. It's time to shift that confidence - in our case refurbished doesn't mean second-rate; it means commercially smarter, greener, and just as reliable," she said.

UrBusiness is committed to sustainability by planting a tree for every handset purchased and five trees for each device traded in. By promoting refurbished handsets, the company aims to reduce e-waste and extend the lifecycle of smartphones, offering a cost-effective and eco-friendly alternative to new devices.
