Teradata names Louis Landry as new chief technology officer
Teradata has announced the promotion of Louis Landry to the position of Chief Technology Officer (CTO).
Louis Landry has been with Teradata for over a decade, and in his new capacity as CTO, he will utilise his extensive experience in software architecture and engineering leadership to propel the company's technological vision and innovation strategy. Prior to this role, Landry was at the helm of Teradata's Technology and Innovation Office, where he managed the company's advanced research and development efforts.
During his tenure, he has navigated Teradata's core strengths to tackle emerging market changes, particularly the transition towards open and connected data platforms and advancements in artificial intelligence, including generative AI. Under Landry's direction, his team has been responsible for notable developments such as Teradata ask.ai and the compute engine project that burgeoned into Teradata AI Unlimited, the company's inaugural on-demand compute engine.

Landry's contribution to Teradata has been marked by his positions since joining the company in 2020 as Vice President of Technology & Innovation and other key leadership roles including Engineering Fellow and CTO of Unified Data Architecture Platform Technologies. His career prior to Teradata includes significant roles at MicroStrategy, where he focused on analytics product development, and at Sears Holdings Corporation, where he designed a real-time data acquisition platform using open-source technologies.
At eBay Inc., Landry spearheaded the development of an analytics platform for top sellers and an internal analytics-as-a-service project aimed at making the company more data-centric. Moreover, he has contributed to the open-source community as a Project Leader and Development Coordinator for the Joomla! Project from 2005 to 2011. Landry holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Louisiana Tech University and has completed a Rethink Strategy Certificate from Harvard Business School.
