SuiteWorld 2024: Annexa's successes and the future of AI in Cloud ERP

Fri, 13th Sep 2024

It's been a few big days at SuiteWorld, and with day four all wrapped up, it's time to take stock of the incredible insights, announcements, and achievements that have emerged.

From some interesting new AI advancements to prestigious awards, SuiteWorld 2024 has truly showcased the unfolding future that is cloud ERP, AI, and finance.

In this final wrap-up, I'll share some of Annexa's proudest moments, including our victory at the Hackathon 4Good and being honoured as ANZ's Solution Provider Partner of the Year 2024. Then finish it all off a look at key from the past few days.

Annexa wins Hackathon 4Good
A key date on the SuiteWorld calendar is the Hackathon 4Good which sees competing groups develop and prototype innovative NetSuite solutions for not for profit organisations. Annexa's Director, Jarred Spriggs and Solution Architect, Bart Wadley, formed a team with two leading NetSuite developers, with their solution ultimately taking first prize.

Their winning solution leverages both Oracle Cloud and NetSuite to help the Conservancy rank and prioritise bird conservation projects. By evaluating factors such as species risk, habitat restoration, and the impact of activities like tree planting, the solution tracks birds, habitats, sightings, and conservation costs against available grants. This ensures that the most impactful projects are executed first.

Annexa recognised as ANZ’s Growth - Solution Provider Partner of the Year ANZ

During SuiteWorld, I attended the Global Partner Update and lunch, where partners from across the globe gathered to explore program updates, new go-to-market strategies, and Oracle's latest tools designed to streamline our operations.

I am proud to share that Annexa was again honoured by NetSuite, this time with Growth - Partner of the year for ANZ!
Receiving this award really shines a light on our entire team's outstanding success in the ANZ region, and Annexa's role as a trusted partner in driving growth and innovation for our customers.

During that same event, I was invited to join Craig West, Oracle's SVP of Global Channels, for a Q&A session to highlight Annexa's successes with NetSuite Planning & Budgeting (NSPB) and NetSuite Analytics Warehouse (NSAW). Notably, this was the first time a representative from ANZ was involved in such a conference presentation. In the session, I shared how NSPB and NSAW are invaluable components of our upper mid-market customers' NetSuite cloud ERP solutions, bridging gaps in our solution stack and helping us secure significant wins.

AI as a practical and productised tool embedded into core functions
It's a brave new world for cloud ERP, AI and finance. This fruitful convergence is really set to transform the way finance teams and the wider business operates.

Last year, we got a swathe of brand new AI announcements that have been slowly rolling out in the twelve months since. This year was a little less flashy, but what we loved was that NetSuite really focussed on grounding all the new AI capabilities. Attendees were shown exactly how AI is being embedded into daily processes, and integrated into the fabric of NetSuite's wide and varied offerings.

Gen AI features bug in NetSuite Text Enhance which has been updated with over 200 new writing experiences, now supporting multiple languages, including Japanese.

We also saw Gen AI being used in the flow to automatically detect financial anomalies that require closer scrutiny with NetSuite Financial Exception Management.

We saw how the SuiteAnalytics Assistant leverages Gen AI via a natural language interface to help users retrieve information and generate AI-powered summaries.

We saw how NetSuite Prompt Studio gives administrators and developers capabilities to refine AI-generated content by adjusting the format, tone, and creativity level. Or, through Gen AI for SuiteScript API, embed AI functionalities into NetSuite extensions and customisations. Then there's the new Oracle Code Assist, an AI code companion for developers.

EPM has been infused with even more Gen AI so finance teams can efficiently find reports and insights or automatically create narratives, explanations, and visuals from financial and transactional data. AI also stands ready to help users identify patterns, trends, and anomalies or simply query a chatbot for quick answers.

We saw new customer engagement personalisation features that integrates insights across the suite and activates them using AI, ultimately serving intelligent recommendations for teams to engage customers more effectively.

SuiteProjects Pro incorporates AI too. It can proactively calculate and analyse risks to prevent delays or match projects with suitable talent based on historical data and key metrics.

We're bringing all the new capabilities home
NetSuite's focus on making AI accessible and actionable means that users can leverage advanced capabilities without needing specialised expertise. In fact, all NetSuite's new AI features will naturally sit in the flow of the user, aiding and supporting them as they go about their tasks.

And of course, we can't overlook the ongoing rollout of Redwood, NetSuite's highly anticipated new UX. Seeing Redwood integrated across many of the new functions has been impressive, and we're eager to see how it will further enhance user experience and efficiency throughout the NetSuite platform.

While we don't have definite dates around when all the new enhancements will be made available for the ANZ region, it's promising to see that most capabilities presented during the keynotes are already available in the US. This gave us a chance to get try them out with the NetSuite team on the expo floor. Only time will tell which AI capabilities bring the most value but we're certainly excited to get back home and start experimenting, testing and sharing all the AI-led features that will bring most value to our ANZ customers.
