Haystack partners with Google Cloud to enhance intranet search

Haystack, a modern intranet provider, today revealed its partnership with Google Cloud to integrate Vertex AI into Haystack workspaces. This integration aims to revolutionise intranet search experiences, making organisational knowledge more accessible and interactive.

The new AI-powered search capabilities address long-standing issues of obsolete or hard-to-find internal information. Users can now conduct intuitive and conversational searches within their company intranet, thus finding exactly what they need more efficiently. The system is designed to generate informative responses even when specific results are not found, improving the overall user experience.

The new search features have been developed with an emphasis on freedom and flexibility, and they are compatible with both Microsoft and Google ecosystems. Haystack will continue to offer integrations with other popular enterprise search tools like Moveworks and Glean. The company is dedicated to providing a solution that is adaptable to various tools that organisations might already be using.

Privacy and security remain a priority for Haystack. The company confirmed that customer data will not be shared with Google Cloud for training purposes. Additionally, customers will have the option to opt out of integrating with the Vertex AI platform if they prefer.

The new Vertex AI-powered search feature will be available for select customers from autumn 2024, with a wider rollout anticipated by early 2025.
