StorONE unveils S1 Version 3.9 with major cost savings

StorONE has revealed Version 3.9 of its S1 Platform, featuring enhancements that promise up to a 75% cost reduction in data storage for enterprises compared to flash-based solutions.

The release of S1 Version 3.9 aims to reshape enterprise storage by integrating AI technology for data tiering. This update introduces TierONE, a feature that automatically categorises data based on access frequency, thus optimising data storage costs.

TierONE serves as a pivotal enhancement in the new version, facilitating seamless data management and ensuring integrity without needing external tools. It offers real-time insights, recommendations for data placement, and supports user configuration for flash data, effectively reducing storage costs for inactive data.

Beyond TierONE, Version 3.9 presents improved data recovery solutions with SnapONE. This feature enables file-level tracking and restoration with a capability of maintaining 100,000 immutable snapshots per volume, which provides robust data protection and recovery flexibility.

An additional feature, the 'Easy Button', automates data service provisioning to minimise human error and downtime risks. This is complemented by automated workflows that allow application managers, even those lacking technical expertise, to manage volume creation independently.

The new graphical user interface introduced in this version focuses on usability improvements based on user feedback, aiming to streamline operations for end-users. Scheduled reporting functions have also been introduced, allowing users to generate and dispatch customised reports automatically.
