Stacey Thorpe appointed Managed Payroll Director at Symatrix

Yesterday

Symatrix has appointed Stacey Thorpe as its new Managed Payroll Director to support its expansion in managed services across the UK and international markets.

New leadership

Stacey Thorpe joins Symatrix following her tenure as Director of Workforce & Payroll Operations at Oliver James, where she led international payroll and HR services. Her experience in payroll operations, HR transformation, and strategic delivery spans more than 20 years and includes senior leadership positions in both in-house and outsourced payroll environments.

Thorpe's appointment follows the recent acquisition of Symatrix by IBM, after which managed payroll services became a main area of focus for the company. She will be responsible for leading the strategic direction and operational delivery of Symatrix's managed payroll services, with a remit to enhance service quality, streamline operations, and increase client satisfaction. Thorpe will also look to scale Symatrix' outsourcing capabilities to meet the needs of evolving HR and finance functions.

Company perspective

Chris Brooks, Managing Director at Symatrix, commented on the appointment and the strategic importance of the role:

"Stacey's appointment marks a significant step forward in our growth strategy. Her deep industry knowledge and proven leadership in payroll transformation align perfectly with our vision. We're excited to welcome her to the team and confident she will play a pivotal role in advancing our managed payroll offering."

Experience and direction

Thorpe, who holds industry-recognised payroll qualifications and is an active member of the Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals, commented on her new position and the opportunities ahead:

"Symatrix' reputation as a trusted Oracle Cloud partner and its commitment to innovation and customer success were key factors in my decision," she said. "I'm thrilled to join a forward-looking organisation that is shaping the future of payroll services. I look forward to building on the strong foundation already in place and helping to elevate our BPO capabilities to new heights."

At Oliver James, Thorpe focused on driving efficiency, scalability, and regulatory compliance across multiple regions. Her background gives her a comprehensive understanding of client needs, compliance requirements, and operational best practices, making her well placed to direct the managed payroll team at Symatrix.

Growth in managed payroll

Symatrix' decision to appoint a new Managed Payroll Director reflects a growing demand for payroll outsourcing services both in the UK and internationally, as organisations seek to navigate increasingly complex regulatory environments and streamline their HR and finance operations. Symatrix has identified its managed payroll offering as central to its ongoing growth, particularly following its integration into the IBM ecosystem.

The company is expected to continue investing in its managed payroll and business process outsourcing capabilities under Thorpe's leadership, with an emphasis on operational excellence and client service.
