Siemens joins Samsung C&T for global smart infrastructure drive
Siemens and Samsung C&T have entered a long-term partnership with the aim of delivering major infrastructure projects across multiple continents. The collaboration brings together Samsung C&T's experience in engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) with Siemens' expertise in automation, electrification, and digitalisation.
Initial projects
The partnership will initially focus on six infrastructure projects in Saudi Arabia, Thailand, and Canada. These undertakings cover sectors such as airports, hospitals, buildings, and data centres. The cooperation is designed to address the demand for tailored solutions that meet the requirements of individual customers in each region.
Combined strengths
Siemens will contribute its Smart Infrastructure and Digital Industries portfolios, including technologies such as Building X, Electrification X, Gridscale X, prefabricated e-houses, Industrial Metaverse applications, and blue GIS technologies. The two companies intend to coordinate from the earliest stages of project assessment through to delivery, with the stated goal of achieving better design, efficiency, and performance.
Collaboration framework
The cooperation is intended to enhance both companies' competitiveness in the global infrastructure market. By joining expertise early in the process, Siemens and Samsung C&T seek to create differentiated value propositions and expand their market reach. The agreement reflects a broader trend in the sector, where complex infrastructure projects increasingly rely on integrated digital solutions to address modern demands for efficiency and sustainability.
Smart infrastructure
The 'ONE Tech Company' approach will leverage the combined technical and project management resources of both firms. Siemens' integrated technology portfolio will play a key role in these projects, focusing on areas such as electrification and automation, alongside Samsung C&T's core EPC capabilities.
