Schoen Clinic Chelsea doubles mental health capacity with Semble

Today

Schoen Clinic Chelsea has expanded its mental health appointment capacity by partnering with the healthcare technology platform Semble, amid rising demand for mental health services in the UK.

Mental health services across the UK are experiencing significant strain, with over two million people currently seeking treatment. Schoen Clinic Chelsea, a private provider of mental health and eating disorder treatments, has implemented Semble's practice management platform to deliver faster and more efficient care to patients.

The adoption of Semble's technology has resulted in several operational improvements for the clinic. According to the provided data, the partnership has led to a doubling of patient capacity and has reduced report-writing time for clinicians by up to 75%. The time required for clinicians to complete reports has dropped from two to three hours to just 45 minutes. Additionally, the system enables same-day patient feedback, which was previously not possible at the clinic.

These changes are being implemented as the NHS faces significant mental health backlogs, reportedly now exceeding 1.5 million. Discussions among UK ministers have highlighted that addressing these waiting times could potentially save the government GBP £1 billion per year.

Schoen Clinic Chelsea was recently appointed to the NHS National Framework for Autism and ADHD Assessment Services, underscoring its expanding role in the national provision of mental health care. The partnership with Semble is a key component of the clinic's efforts to address the growing national need.

Dr Daniel Masud, Consultant Adult Psychiatrist at Schoen Clinic Chelsea, commented on the practical implications of the new system, stating:

This technology is allowing us to do more of what matters – treating patients quickly and effectively. We've significantly expanded our reach and freed up clinical time, without compromising on quality of care.

With the help of Semble, clinicians at Schoen Clinic Chelsea can now dedicate more time to patient care. The system's efficiency improvements arrive at a time when both NHS and private sector providers are reporting record demand for mental health support across the UK. The new digital infrastructure also provides enhanced avenues for immediate patient feedback, supporting patient engagement and quality care monitoring.

Christoph Lippuner, CEO at Semble, highlighted the benefits of reducing administrative burdens within healthcare systems. He said:

Our goal is to remove the bottlenecks and administrative burdens that slow clinicians down and help doctors get back to what they do best - providing care for patients. Through our partnership with Schoen Clinic, we're proving how the right technology infrastructure can deliver major operational efficiencies and positive patient outcomes at scale, ultimately enabling a more connected and sustainable healthcare system.

The collaboration is part of a broader trend within the healthcare sector seeking to balance capacity constraints and waiting list pressures with the need to maintain care standards. Semble's platform is used by healthcare providers of various sizes, including single practices and multi-site groups, and is designed to be interoperable across diagnostics, billing, laboratories, and human resources functions. The intention is to streamline entire care pathways, from initial patient contact through to post-treatment feedback.

Schoen Clinic Chelsea's experience with the platform indicates that technology-focused solutions may offer viable ways to address systemic pressures within the mental health sector. The operational efficiencies realised through the partnership have been framed as a possible model for other providers dealing with similar challenges, particularly as both public and private sectors work to address mental health care demand that continues to outstrip capacity.
