Purple Transform appoints Simon Blagden CBE to Advisory Board

AI innovator, Purple Transform, announced today the appointment of Simon Blagden CBE to its advisory board. Purple Transform is renowned for its AI-driven platform that integrates machine intelligence with existing cameras, sensors, and third-party data to deliver tailored insights offering better human outcomes. Notably, it monitors UK rail lines for trespass, station overcrowding, and obstructions.

Simon Blagden brings a deep reservoir of experience spanning over three decades in the IT, telecoms, and digital industry. His impressive career has seen him hold leading positions at household organisations including GEC, Quante AG, and Fujitsu Telecommunications UK.

The announcement detailed the valuable experience; Blagden initially served at GEC as International Commercial Manager and subsequently as CEO of International Operations on the main board of Quante AG. In addition, he had a 14-year stint as non-executive Chairman at Fujitsu Telecommunications UK. For his significant contributions to export and the economy, he was honoured with an MBE in 1997 and a CBE in 2016, respectively.

Blagden currently presides over Project Gigabit, the government’s £5 billion programme aimed at providing fast, reliable broadband to hard-to-reach communities, as the Chair of Building Digital UK (BDUK). He also serves as the Industry Chairman of the Parliamentary Internet, Communications and Technology Group.
