Progress launches Agentic RAG for dynamic AI-driven web content
Progress Software has introduced a new capability for its Sitefinity digital experience platform, aiming to address evolving enterprise needs for personalised web content and enhanced discoverability within large language models (LLMs). The new feature, Agentic RAG for Sitefinity, incorporates retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) and real-time content assembly, targeting businesses with complex content requirements.
Dynamic content delivery
Agentic RAG for Sitefinity combines conversational AI with web experiences, delivering tailored content based on user prompts. This move is positioned to help organisations address challenges associated with static information delivery, offering adaptive experiences that adjust to each site visitor's context and intent.
The platform draws on approved corporate content, interprets user needs, and dynamically assembles web experiences. It provides tools for source traceability, governance, and compliance, aligning with enterprise standards on content management and control.
Generative engine optimisation
The new capabilities are also promoted as supporting generative engine optimisation (GEO). With GEO, organisations can enhance the visibility of their content within large language models, responding to the growing trend of AI-driven content discovery and interaction.
Incorporating RAG technology means the platform can combine internal company data with external knowledge, generating responses that are more contextually relevant and validated against the business's own resources. This approach is intended to help companies overcome knowledge silos and ensure users receive verified answers tailored to their needs rather than generic or static website content.
Enterprise adoption
The launch comes at a time when enterprises are seeking to differentiate themselves through improved digital engagement. Many firms grapple with the limitations of traditional web platforms, where content is pre-structured and difficult to adapt quickly to diverse customer journeys.
"Progress is redefining what's possible with Sitefinity-introducing adaptive, AI-driven experiences that respond in real time to each user's context and intent. This innovation gives organizations like ours a distinct advantage: the ability to deepen engagement, personalize at scale and stand apart in a crowded digital space. We're proud to be part of this next chapter." said Rick van Emmerik, Chief Marketing Officer, Tangerine Telecom.
Shift in content strategy
By moving away from static web pages toward system-driven content assembly, organisations may see changes in operational processes. Rather than manually curating every customer journey, companies can rely on the platform to generate interactions on demand, in line with brand and regulatory requirements.
This shift aims to provide end users with more relevant information without lengthy navigation or repeated searches, a capability that may appeal to enterprises in highly regulated or fast-moving sectors.
Industry perspective
Progress Software has stated that integrating Agentic RAG into Sitefinity creates a single system that replaces traditional, static web experiences with AI-driven, dynamic digital journeys. Customers can trace sources used in AI-generated content and maintain full governance over their digital assets.
The company indicates that Agentic RAG for Sitefinity supports multilingual experiences, recognising the requirements of multinational businesses and those with diverse customer bases.
"AI has fundamentally changed the way people access information. As a result, traditional websites with pre-structured content will soon be obsolete," said Loren Jarrett, EVP & GM, Digital Experience, Progress Software. "Organisations need to provide a modern prompt-driven, totally dynamic information experience for their website visitors, and Progress Agentic RAG for Sitefinity makes this a reality."
