Point74 names Rob Sinclair as new Chief Executive Officer
Point74 has appointed Rob Sinclair as Chief Executive Officer as the Midlands-based software firm targets expansion across the UK and international markets.
Based in Bourne, Lincolnshire, the company specialises in life-cycle management software for food manufacturers. Management stated that the appointment marks the "next step" in its strategic growth plans.
Sinclair joins from Altia, where he served as CEO from 2020. He previously held senior operational leadership roles within that business.
Point74 said Sinclair has more than 20 years' experience leading and scaling technology-led businesses. It cited operational leadership, international growth and enterprise software among his areas of experience.
During his tenure at Altia, Sinclair led the company through a period of sustained growth, according to Point74. The company said he oversaw global operations and aligned long-term strategy with execution.
Point74 also highlighted external recognition for Sinclair. It said he was named one of the UK's Top 50 Most Ambitious Business Leaders by LDC, in partnership with The Times, in 2024.
Platform focus
Point74 provides a dedicated Food Lifecycle Management (FLM) platform, specifically designed for businesses managing complex new product development (NPD) and data across multiple stages.
According to the company, the platform digitises the development process, fundamentally transforming how food products are designed. The software is built to bridge the gap from initial concept to global launch, streamlining workflows and centralising product data.
Food manufacturers have increased their spending on software over the past decade as product portfolios have expanded and compliance processes have become more formalised. Many firms now seek tighter controls over product data, recipes, allergen information, labelling content and internal approvals, particularly when they operate across multiple sites and markets.
Point74 described a recent period of investment following backing from FPE Capital. It said 2025 served as a foundation year alongside the private equity firm.
Management team
Sinclair joins a management team that includes Chief Finance Officer Daniel Walton, IT Director Wil Telford, Commercial Director Mark Wood and Client Services Director Sam Neal.
Point74 framed the appointment as part of its plans to scale its offering. The company also pointed to complexity and regulation in food markets as factors shaping demand for software services.
Sinclair said he planned to build on the company's existing product base and expand the business.
"I'm excited to be joining Point74 at such a pivotal stage in its growth. The business has built a market-leading platform that genuinely supports the people behind the products, helping food teams navigate increasing complexity across development, compliance and sustainability. I'm looking forward to working with the team to build on this strong foundation and scale the business," said Rob Sinclair, Chief Executive Officer, Point74.
Point74's Commercial Director said the company had reached a point where it needed greater standardisation as it grew.
"Point74 has a highly differentiated product and a strong customer base across the food industry. As we look to standardise and scale our offering, Rob's track record of leading and growing software businesses makes him exceptionally well-suited to lead the company through its next phase of growth," said Wood.
The firm confirmed it is planning further expansion throughout 2026 and beyond.
