PMC opens major India centre to boost global retail innovation

Fri, 28th Nov 2025

British commerce technology firm PMC has opened a new 35,000 sq ft Innovation & Delivery Centre (IDC) in Vadodara, India to increase its global delivery and engineering capacity. The facility is expected to double the size of PMC's India team and enhance its ability to support large-scale digital transformation projects for retail and commerce clients worldwide.

India investment

The new centre is located in Alembic City, Vadodara and houses over four hundred technology specialists. It is designed to be a focal point for the delivery of unified commerce, cloud solutions, engineering, and managed services. PMC's expansion in India follows recent investment from BGF, with the funding aimed at scaling its global reach and developing new capabilities.

The launch comes as retailers increase their focus on digital platforms and commerce technology. PMC is positioning its Indian operations to support current demand for skills in data, analytics, and next-generation engineering.

Global delivery

PMC plans to use the IDC to drive a company-wide model of 'innovation from anywhere,' with a focus on seamless collaboration among teams working across multiple countries. The company said the centre will support rapid product delivery and the development of advanced technology platforms for clients expanding internationally.

"This is a visionary investment in the future of commerce technology," said Richard Lowe, CEO, PMC. "Our new IDC in Alembic reflects our long-term commitment to building a global technology ecosystem where collaboration drives innovation and simplifies complexity for our clients worldwide."

According to PMC, the Indian centre is already working on unified data systems and analytics projects for commerce, aimed at providing retailers with insights to drive business transformation.

Skills and solutions

Talent development and cross-border innovation are central to the new IDC, with teams in Vadodara collaborating with colleagues across PMC's global footprint. Employees at the centre are focused on supporting clients in modernising core systems and enhancing business resilience.

Paul Mason, Founder of PMC, said that the new centre is designed to increase high-impact solution delivery for commerce brands.

"The next phase of PMC's global growth will be built on shared innovation and expertise," added Paul Mason, Founder of PMC. "Our new IDC demonstrates how PMC is leveraging cross-border collaboration to deliver high-impact solutions for commerce brands.

Urvi Parekh, Country Head (India) at PMC, noted the impact of the local team on clients' operational costs. "India's tech workforce isn't just coding for the world - it's co-creating solutions that drive global retail transformation," mentioned Parekh. "Our teams in Alembic are helping retailers modernise core systems, improve resilience and scalability, and drive down the total cost of ownership. One recent example involved our teams helping a major European retailer reduce TCO by over 40%."

Investor support

BGF, which recently invested in PMC and appointed Duncan Wade as a Non-Executive Director, has joined the board to support ongoing global expansion. Wade stated that the IDC is set to become a centre for innovation and develop talent for PMC's future growth.

PMC stated the Alembic IDC will support its mission of simplifying complex commerce technology and speeding up project delivery across its global portfolio.
