Oracle & Anduril partner to enhance global defence solutions

Thu, 12th Sep 2024

Oracle and Anduril have announced a partnership to integrate Anduril’s Lattice software platform with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and OCI Roving Edge Infrastructure worldwide.

Anduril will also combine its Menace hardware systems with OCI to bolster operations in both connected and disconnected mobile command and control settings. This collaboration aims to deliver secure mission capabilities from the datacenter to the tactical edge, addressing all classification levels.

Anduril’s Lattice will be deployed on Oracle Cloud Isolated and National Security Regions - Oracle’s air-gapped cloud infrastructure designed for mission-critical, classified defence, and intelligence workloads. Additionally, Lattice will be accessible in Oracle Cloud Regions, Oracle EU Sovereign Cloud, and Oracle Government Clouds in Australia, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

"Anduril’s partnership with Oracle will provide more global capabilities for our customers," said Tom Keane, Senior Vice President of Anduril. "Oracle Cloud provides the global infrastructure, price performance, and data sovereignty that mission customers need to deploy scalable, autonomous, and force-multiplying technology to the far edge."

By deploying Lattice across Oracle’s distributed cloud, the collaboration seeks to provide warfighters with real-time situational awareness, automated decision-making advantages, dynamic machine tasking, and human-on-the-loop automation.

Anduril has also incorporated OCI Roving Edge Infrastructure into its Menace family of expeditionary hardware C4 solutions. Operating within Oracle’s distributed cloud, Menace aims to enable warfighters to deploy, manage, and operate mission applications in disrupted, disconnected, intermittent, and low-bandwidth (DDIL) environments.

"Public sector and defence customers operate in the real world, where deployable hardware interacts with humans and creates effects in the most complex environments imaginable," said Rand Waldron, Vice President of Oracle. "Anduril’s Lattice on Oracle Cloud ties together those physical systems with the world’s best cloud services, data management, and AI infrastructure - on a hyperscale global network, across an airgap or in the field."

Oracle claims to be the only hyperscaler capable of providing AI and a comprehensive suite of over 150 cloud services across dedicated, public, sovereign, and hybrid cloud environments, including air-gapped infrastructure on classified networks. With OCI’s sovereign and government cloud offerings, Oracle asserts that customers can meet regulatory, security, and performance needs while reaping the full benefits of cloud and AI technologies.

This partnership also highlights Anduril’s existing support operations with several government agencies, including the US Department of Defense, the US Department of Homeland Security, the Australian Defence Force, and the UK Ministry of Defence, among others. Powered by Lattice, Anduril solutions aim to deliver integrated, persistent awareness, security, and command and control at the tactical edge across land, sea, and air domains.
